A few quarterbacks made their mark and a couple of linebackers in the same game came away with eye-popping numbers as we look at the best of the best in the Midlands for the second week of games.
Jarvis Green Jarvis Green 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Dutch Fork | 2023 State SC , RB, Dutch Fork
Green carried the Silver Foxes offense after an injury to their starting quarterback. The senior ran for 306 yards and touchdowns of 33 and 61 yards to help Dutch Fork defeat Spartanburg 27-25 on a last second field goal.
Nigel Johnson, WR, Crestwood
The senior accounted for five receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns for the Knights in a 37-28 victory over Gray Collegiate.
Cam McMillion, QB, Fairfield Central
The freshman continues his hot play to begin the season. He threw five touchdown passes for the second consecutive week to lead the Griffins to a 41-21 victory over Andrew Jackson. Fairfield Central trailed 21-6.
Jonah Norris, RB, Lexington
The Wildcats senior ran for 328 yards and touchdowns of 7, 2, 14, 17 and 3 yards to lead the Wildcats to a63-56 road win over South Aiken. Norris scored his final touchdown with 18 seconds remaining to break a tie.
Landon Sharpe Landon Sharpe 5'11" | 180 lbs | QB White Knoll | 2025 State SC , QB, White Knoll
The sophomore threw for four touchdowns on 13-of-16 passing for 195 yards. His touchdowns covered 40, 11, 27 and 12 yards.
Terrance Smith, QB, South Aiken
South Aiken usually isn’t in our area, but Smith garners this attention for what he did in a 63-56 loss to Lexington. He ran for 391 yards and six touchdowns – 8, 71, 6, 42, 75 and 1 yards – as the Thoroughbreds rushed for 600 yards.
Tyler Stoudemire, LB, White Knoll
The junior had a huge night in the Timberwolves 36-9 win over Spring Valley. He finished with 15 total tackles with three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.
David Wilson David Wilson 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Spring Valley | 2023 State SC , LB, Spring Valley
The senior linebacker was all over the field despite it coming in a 36-9 setback to White Knoll. He routinely was at the point of attack and finished with 15 total tackles.
