A lot of players put up some gaudy numbers and here are the ones from the Midlands area we feel should get game balls this week for their performances.
Justin Gissendanner, WR/DB, Swansea
The Tigers two-way player did it on both sides of the ball in a 19-6 win over Airport. Gissendanner caught a 29-yard touchdown pass and added a 47-yard interception for another score.
Jaden Haygood, DB, Dreher
The Blue Devils defensive back recorded two interceptions in a 29-22 win over Keenan. One of his picks came in the end zone.
Cooper Johns, RB, River Bluff
The senior running back 113 yards and touchdowns of 8, 35 and 1 yards in a 42-13 victory over Lugoff-Elgin.
Cam McMillon, QB, Fairfield Central
Talking about making a splash in your varsity debut. The freshman threw for 315 yards and five touchdowns on 18-of-23 passing to lead the Griffins to a 62-14 victory over Carvers Bay.
Kamadi Maxwell, WR, Lexington
Maxwell was spectacular in a 31-28 loss to West Florence. The senior wideout had eight receptions for 203 yards and added touchdowns of 47 and 77 yards.
Luke New Luke New 5'10" | 160 lbs | ATH Pelion | 2024 State SC , QB, Pelion
The Panthers QB started the season last Wednesday night by accounting for six touchdowns overall in a 47-22 win over Bethune-Bowman. New rushed for 211 yards and five touchdowns and added 112 yards passing and another score.
Grayson White Grayson White 6'0" | 240 lbs | QB Camden | 2024 State SC , QB, Camden
The junior QB had a hand in five different scoring plays as the Bulldogs dismantled Myrtle Beach 42-13. White ran for 137 yards and touchdowns of 14 and 10 yards and threw for 230 yards and scores from 31, 44 and 16 yards.
