Frankie Farmer Frankie Farmer 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Peddie | 2023 State NJ , QB, Peddie, 2023
Frankie’s numbers look good until you look more closely, then they look amazing. 1794 yards and 15 TDs in just 7 games. Against Hill and Lawrenceville alone he threw for 704 yards and 6 touchdowns with completing over 60% of his passes in both games. He has nice zip on the ball with good deep accuracy to hit receivers in stride for big gains. He has good mobility so you have to respect his ability to get first downs with his legs. I love the fact that he’s a bit of a gunslinger too. He takes chances, throwing into tight windows and considering he only threw 3 picks against 15 TDs. That says about his accuracy. Frankie has interest from Lafayette and Maine and recently received an offer from TCNJ.
Shawn Purcell Shawn Purcell 5'11" | 145 lbs | ATH Manville | 2023 State NJ , RB, Manville, 2023
Shawn has a unique skill among running backs which is he knows how and when to change gears. See, in order to take advantage of slow developing plays like traps and counters, you have to be patient and let your blockers get into position. Shawn excels at this as he picks his way through the defenses, keeping a good relationship with his blockers and then accelerating to daylight. This also forces linebackers to commit, sometimes leaving gaping holes to run through. He’s also a great receiver out of the backfield with home run speed to take it the distance. This shows Shawn to be a mature and heady football player, not just a fast guy in the backfield. Looking forward to his senior year.
Malik Wilson, OL/DL, Piscataway, 2023
Really impressed with Malik’s physicality on both sides of the ball. He’s a monster at the Left tackle spot, consistently called on to make key blocks in the run game on what is usually the best athlete on the D Line. He’s a finisher, with nice footwork and leg drive to serve pancakes to defense. On the other side of the ball, he’s got nice get off at the 1 technique, and is a very effective runs stopper. He often just muscles offensive lineman backward from the DT and DE spots. I expect him to get some serious looks come this fall.
Ronnie Heath, RB, Don Bosco, 2023
Ronnie hits the hole as hard as any running back in the state, with good acceleration and top end speed to take it to the distance. To be a great running back though, you have to have the ability to get extra yards by yourself and he is physical. With good leg drive, great stiff arm, and the willingness to lower the shoulder for extra yards Ronnie fights hard for those last few yards for his offense. Don Bosco plays against elite competition and Ronnie comes through for them in big games. He ran for 1287 yards and 15 TDs on the season and went off for 227 yards and 4 TDs against rival St. Joe’s Montvale. Ronnie already holds offers from Marist and Seton Hill, and I expect that list to grow very soon.
