Merkwan is not someone that you want to line up against, he can and will use his physical size along with his build to get above defenders and bring passes into him. Where Van Tol shows his talent is having a pass catcher who can run routes like a bonafide receiver and create separation like a slot receiver as the ability to. Van Tol is in sync with his quarterback and can adapt as the game goes on with him to get incorporated into every aspect of the offense. Not to mention, he has a blocking ability that puts him on par with fullbacks with the caliber of protection that he can provide for his team.
