Wilson shined in Corner Canyon’s opener, tossing six touchdown passes and throwing for 450 yards. The new Charge quarterback showed why he could be the best quarterback in the state with impeccable accuracy and decision-making on each throw. Wilson has a cannon and can effortlessly launch the ball 40 yards even if he’s throwing on the move. The junior understands how to manipulate a defense with his legs before making them pay for breaking their coverage. Wilson navigates incoming pressure exceptionally well and knows how to buy his receivers time before making plays. Each of his throws are crisp and the zip he puts on his passes are unmatched in Utah.
Cooper Swasey || WR || 6’1 || 180 || Payson High School || 2024
Swaeasye leads the state in receiving touchdowns with four and receiving yards with 213. The shifty wideout showed out with a huge performance that included big play after big play. Swaeasye adjusts to the ball exceptionally well, and once he makes the tough grab has the breakaway speed to separate as well. Once he makes the catch Swaeasye is tough to bring down as he shakes off arm tackles, determined to get six points. He quickly changes direction and possesses elite speed, allowing him to get behind slow-footed defensive backs quickly. He can make plays from any level of the field and looks to be in for a big year at Payson.

Beckstead was a massive catalyst in Timpview’s big win over Lone Peak with two touchdowns. The Timpview back has elite acceleration, which was on full display all night vs. the Knights. Beckstead might have the best vision of any back in the state as he never misses a cutback lane and stays patient behind his blockers. Once he finds a hole, he bursts through it and rarely goes down on first contact. Beckstead possesses elite quickness and evades contact with ease. He can stop and start on the drop of a dime and always keeps his legs driving for extra yards. Timpview may have the best offensive line in the state, and their pairing with Beckstead will make for one of the toughest rushing attacks in the state.
David Calvert || TE || 6’6 || 225 || Fremont High School || 2023
Calvert may have had the catch of the season, and it’s only week one. The 6’6 tight end hauled in a spectacular one-handed snag where he effortlessly snatched the ball out of the air. Calvert also showed off his breakaway speed as no Skyridge defensive backs could catch up with the lengthy tight end as he crossed the goal-line. At 225 Calvert has the strength to shake off would-be tacklers allowing him to gan extra yards after the catch. One of the state’s best jump ball threats, Calvert plays the ball in the air extremely well and possesses the strong hands to hold onto catches through contact. Look for him to make contested catches and big plays all year.
