Prep Redzone takes a look…
Barry Walker Barry Walker 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Crisp County | 2024 State GA – OL – Crisp County
One of the biggest OL movers in the latest update, Walker is a dominating offensive tackle out of South Georgia who moves up all the way to No. 33 in the state of Georgia. The massive 6-foot-6 315-pounder is physically imposing and shows impressive footwork for his size. He’s strong in the upper body, plays with balance, and knows how to protect the passer. He’s a dominant run blocker due to his overall size and strength, but he appears to move well in pass protection as well. He has long arms, he’s physical, and he really impressed in the camp circuit this offseason, and had an excellent showing earlier this year at the Under Armour Camp in Atlanta. He can still develop like all offensive linemen, but when you watch him play, it’s easy to see the potential he brings. He’s without a doubt one of the top OL prospects in Georgia for the 2024 class.
Dwight Phillips Dwight Phillips 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Pebblebrook | 2024 State GA Jr – WR – Pebblebrook
Speed, speed, and more speed. That’s why Pebblebrook star athlete Dwight Phillips Dwight Phillips 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Pebblebrook | 2024 State GA Jr made a massive jump in the latest PRep Redzone Rankings, jumping all the way up to No. 23 in the state. The Pebblebrook (GA) star is one of the fastest 2024 prospects in the country, and he’s the current 7A 100-meter state champion after running a 10.43 earlier this spring. His father was a former four-time world champion in the long-jump, and Phillips Jr. has those speedy, athletic traits as well. He’s not small by any means at 5-foot-11 170-pounds, and he can line up in multiple spots on the field. Whether he’s lined up out wide at receiver, in the backfield, or returning kicks, Phillips Jr is always a threat with the ball in his hands. His 2nd gear in the open field in extremely impressive, and since May 21st, Phillips Jr. has earned offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, Kentucky, FSU, Cincinnati, among others. As a sophomore last fall, Phillips rushed 62 times for 774 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also caught 9 passes for 245 yards and two more touchdowns.
Sacovie White Sacovie White 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Cass | 2024 State GA – Cass
One of the top 2024 two-way players in North Georgia, White showed big-play ability and dominated this summer during the camp season, showing game-changing speed, explosiveness, and the ability to make a tough grab in coverage. A smooth route-runenr as well, White gets open consistently but knows how to make a play on the ball in tight coverage. He made a big jump in the rankings and now comes in as the No. 42 prospect in the state in the latest Prep Redzone rankings. At 5-foot-10 165-pounds, White is agile, quick, and proved that he’s one of the top young pass catchers in the 2024 class. He was excellent in the Georgia Elite Classic game back in December, catching five passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. He’s dangerous with the ball in his hands, plays bigger than his size, and knows how to break tackles. He can change directions well, and he’s an excellent open field runner when he has space.
Jayden Scott Jayden Scott 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Stockbridge | 2024 State GA – RB – Stockbridge
One of the biggest movers of all the running backs, Scott made a big jump in the latest rankings, going from No. 131 all the way to No. 46 in the newest update. An explosive, shifty back who runs with balance, Scott only played in 4 games this year but ran wild each time, rushing for 460 yards and 6 touchdowns last year. He shows great footwork, vision, and the ability to break tackles. He’s not easy to trip up, and of you don’t tackle him properly, Scott is going to slip through and make defenders pay. He changes directions well, shows good burst, and has a lot of qualities that make him an easy D1-caliber back. He really impressed in just a four-game stretch as a sophomore, but look for him to have a giant junior season this fall. He’s absolutely one of the top 2024 running backs to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
