Nixon is one of the most under-rated offensive weapons across all of Norcal and can play at the FCS+ level. He has the size, physicality, downfield speed and hands to be a very successful next level player. Off the ball, he has an explosive first step, can stretch the field with long speed and wins at the POA on 50/50 balls when making contested catches while showing highpoint abilities as well. Going into his Senior season, he should repeat as a 1,000 yard receiver and be one of the best overall players in the Delta League.
RB Ali Collier, Monterey Trail HS ’23
Collier is one of the most under-rated players regardless of position across the region. He has ideal size for the position, and can do tons of damage from the backfield both running the rock and catching passes out of the backfield. He is a smooth downhill runner that gets behind his pads with natural forward lean and bounces off arm and ankle tackles while gaining the tough yards in-between the tackles. When bouncing it outside, he shows good speed through the first two levels and can make defenders miss in tight windows. Able to do it all for the Mustangs, he will be one of the top ball carriers across the SJS this Fall and is a no brainer FCS+ kid at the next level that should be closing in on his first offer soon.
TE/LB Josh Maxwell, Placer HS ’23
Maxwell is a tough and physical two-way player for the Hillmen and put together a very solid Junior campaign. He is able to play both inside and outside linebacker and is active when closing in the box and brings a nice thump upon contact. He is a downhill gap filler who can close quickly and shows impressive COD/lateral movement abilities when scraping over the top for someone his size, and should find his home at inside linebacker in college.
WR Deven Stephens, Sacramento HS ’23
Stephens is one of the fastest weapons the region has to offer in the ’23 class and is able to potentially score every time he touches the ball. Quick in the short area, he has impressive wiggle near the LOS when getting off press coverage, strong hands downfield and tremendous burst after the catch with third level speed forcing defenders to take bad angles. Also a problem in the return game, he displays open field vision with cutback ability and does a nice job at setting up his blockers before finding and bursting through the crease.
