Somehow, it was PrepRedzoneWI's second anniversary this past June, and boy has that time gone fast! I still remember our launch date, which was the culmination of me watching film on every program and just about every player in the state as well as the genesis of our partnership with now-lead scout Mark Johnson. It was an exciting and competitive time for me personally, as I ventured into a new state and got to know some new teams and players, and a lot of the initial excitement and momentum began with the Preseason All-State Teams. From 8-player up to Division 1, those weeks of grinding tape en mass were really how I built my foundation of initial understanding of Wisconsin High School football, and I'm stoked to bring the series back while we twiddle our thumbs before the 2022 season kicks off. Mark is in the process of updating the rankings, so it comes at a perfect time in that regard, and there is no better place to start with the Preseason teams than in the 8-player division. A lot of these 2023s were just young bucks when I first got a look at them for our All-State teams two seasons ago, and it's a blessing to be watching and writing about them as they enter their final year of prep football with a ton of talent behind them in the younger classes. With 65 programs spanning small towns around the Great State of Wisconsin, this 8-player team features 59 players from three graduating classes and every position on the gridiron, from the hogs in the trenches to the speedsters on the perimeter. Before I begin, I want to make sure to mention that this list was curated primarily with Hudl, so I do recognize that some players/programs are at a disadvantage without Hudl and I more than likely missed some studs. However, there was more than enough tape to make this PrepRedzoneWI Preseason All-State: 8-Player Offense and Defense team, so let's get into it. Thanks for reading!
