Hopefully you have had a wonderful summer with time to spend with loved ones and work towards whatever goal you are currently chasing. With that being said fall camp is or has opened up all over the country, and of course fall camp means FOOTBALL! I expect that most are as excited as I am to start hearing the pads cracking and begin to get ready for Friday nights, Saturday afternoons and Sundays in the NFL. Throw in a little Monday night football, some Thursday night NFL and MACtion all week long and it is clear to see the best time of the year is upon us. With that being said I wanted to spend a few articles honoring some of the least appreciated participants in our fine game. Although they maybe don't get as much love at times, if you are a true football fan you know that they are as crucial as any player on the field to the fate of our favorite teams. Here's to the specialists...

[player_tooltip player_id='383728' first='Caleb' last='McGrath']- (Eastview High School) 6'3 175lbs. C/o 2023. @caleb_mcgrath23

Caleb is a naturally talented punter. He can do all the skill sets well, but is best at Rugby punting which is probably influenced by a family background in Australia. It is very hard for coaches to teach leg speed, but he has it in spades. There is a reason he has committed to his home state team and that reason is that he has an extraordinary ability to flip the field (Which helps win football games) something that is bolstered by his dedication to his craft and some natural length and talent to boot.

Logan Lehrer- (Prior Lake High School) 6'2 190lbs. C/o 2023. @LoganLehrer_

Logan seems to have come out of nowhere, he is long and lanky and built like a tight end. His biggest asset is his amazing power. Logan can punt and kick but he is most adept in his kicking. His ceiling is incredibly high, and strength is his biggest asset. Field position is incredibly important in the game of football and being able to put the ball in the end zone negates the talented returners ability to affect the outcome.

[player_tooltip player_id='233539' first='Drew' last='Henson']- (Owatonna High School) 6'5 195lbs. C/o 2023. @DrewHenson05

Drew comes from a whole family of specialists and when you watch him you can see that it is in his blood. He has long levers that allow him to crush the ball. Drew's biggest strength is kick-offs, and he is able to drive the ball deep for touchbacks. He gets the ball up high and quick. This is a kid with a big time accurate leg as well as more room for growth.

Peter Nelson- (Champlin Park High School) 6'0 190lbs. C/o 2023. @PeterNelson111

Peter is an outstanding long snapper that has dedicated himself to his craft which isn't something that happens in every program. He snaps the ball with absolute speed which is something that punters love. Size may be a slight concern at the next level, but his skills are on point with what coaches are looking for at the next level. This is a kid who is passionate about long-snapping which can be hard to find.

[player_tooltip player_id='112151' first='Ben' last='Jameson']- (Maple Grove High School) 6'2 210lbs. C/o 2023. @BenJameson2023

Ben is a very talented three-way specialist. He can kick off, place kick and punt. This gives him diversity colleges are looking for. As a college coach with roster and travel number limits it is often hard to travel with a specialist that can only do one thing for you. He is also big and physical and at least in high school has shown the ability to excel at other positions
