Per usual rankings are based on who projects highest at the collegiate level. There is still a lot yet to be determined with athletes still being so young. Expect a host of movement and additions in the coming months. Referenced here is the top 80 for the class of 2025 https://prepredzone.com/2022/08/updated-2025-oregon-rankings/

Most indviduals who were ranked previously will have *UPDATES* under their name.

1.[player_tooltip player_id='152653' first='Zhaiel' last='Smith'] 5-11 175 ATH Central Catholic- A lot is yet to be determined but as of right now Smith has the potential of being the top player in Oregon for the 2025 class. In limited time last season, he averaged 23.5 yards per carry for the state champs.

UPDATE: One of the most versatile kids in the region. Expect him to have a handful of division 1 offers before the end of the season as he will rarely leave the field.

2.[player_tooltip player_id='406755' first='Zyon' last='Floyd'] 5-10 165 ATH Lakeridge- One of the top athletes on the west coast for his class. Floyd comes from a talented family and will be the best of the bunch. Look for him to start in the secondary for the Pacers this season and be one of the top offensive threats in Oregon in the coming years.

3.[player_tooltip player_id='285851' first='Jace' last='Eveland'] 6-7 315 T Putnam- This kid isn't just big, He earned 1st team all-conference honors as a freshman for a program which has struggled, making the accolades all the more impressive. From a projection standpoint size is necessary these days so look for him to do well on the recruiting front in the years ahead.

UPDATE: The size speaks for itself as Eveland had an outstanding off season, training with one of the nation's best out of Seattle in FSP, and being only the 2nd freshman ever to play in the Les Schwab Bowl.

4.[player_tooltip player_id='285855' first='Baron' last='Naone'] 6-4 205 TE/LB West Linn- A big physical presence who projects as one of Oregon's top recruits for the class. Dad played at Oregon St. You can't teach the size, with the Lions having the potential of going on a multi-year state title run with athletes like Naone.

UPDATE: Naone has killed it on the diamond where the Lions just won the 6A state baseball title. While he projects as an unquestioned D1 football talent his versatility is impressive.

5.[player_tooltip player_id='406754' first='Jackson' last='Doman'] 6-5 185 WR Canby- Another Doman. This one could be the best which is saying something for anyone familiar with the bloodline. Jackson played varsity ball as a freshman and will be part of a talented group coming up for head coach Jimmy Joyce.

6.[player_tooltip player_id='286686' first='Zachary' last='Davis'] 6-1 255 OLB/DE Central Catholic- Davis had an impressive off season, traveling the country and getting on multiple division 1 boards. He will be highly recruited for the returning state champs.

7.[player_tooltip player_id='285852' first='Avirey' last='Durdahl'] 6-0 180 QB Nelson- One of the most respected QB trainers in the West called this kid "the real deal and a major D1 recruit". He started 4 games as a freshman, throwing 10 TDs/4 INTs for the brand-new HS. Expect a big off season on the 7v7 circuit.

UPDATE: They will let Durdahl do his thing and air it out this coming season, after hitting on 62% of his passes as a freshman. The new HS returns a host of talent and experience, to go with a couple of impressive transfers.

8.[player_tooltip player_id='285857' first='Nolan' last='Keeney'] 6-4 190 QB Westview- Keeney has the potential of being a major D1 recruit. His running ability compliments his size and arm strength. You will hear a lot about this kid, playing for one of the state's fastest rising programs.

UPDATE: Usually when a team loses the #1 ranked QB in the state they suffer, referencing the loss of Leavitt. That said as I see the Cats being a potential top 10 6A team under Keeney's leadership this season.

9.[player_tooltip player_id='312496' first='Hudson' last='Hardy'] 6-3 200 ATH/LB West Linn- A future POY candidate, expect to hear a lot about him in the years ahead. His ability to maneuver out of the backfield at 6-3 is unique, rushing for 1000+ yards and 13 TDs at the freshman level this past season.

UPDATE: I think Hardy will eventually blow up. Look for him to get legit time on a ridiculously deep Lions team, as he can play multiple spots on both sides of the ball.

10.[player_tooltip player_id='285849' first='Oliver' last='Macy'] 6-3 200 OLB/RB Lake Oswego- The younger, yet bigger brother, of 1st team all TRL LB [player_tooltip player_id='270070' first='Calvin' last='Macy']. The Lakers have a host of talented young kids with size, who could get on the field early, after graduating a talented senior class.

UPDATE: Macy could be one of the best in the TRL this season with the Lakers graduating a talented senior class. He is physically elite and has outstanding genes with his brother holding multiple D1 offers.

11.[player_tooltip player_id='407256' first='Tau' last='Takau'] 6-2 215 LB Roosevelt- As noted Coach McCants has done a phenomenal job with this Roughriders program. Takau is an unquestioned division 1 talent that will be in the PIL POY conversation the next three seasons.

12.[player_tooltip player_id='285856' first='Landon' last='Fay'] 6-3 225 DE/OLB McMinnville- It's rare to see a kid with his combination of size and fluidity at such a young age. He could end up as a DE or somewhere up front, projecting as one of the top defenders in Oregon.

UPDATE: This kid could be special. The Grizzlies have not been a traditional power but Fay projects as a 1st team all conference kid this year and one of the best in the state for his class.

13.[player_tooltip player_id='285854' first='Suliasi' last='Laulaupeaalu'] 6-4 360 OL Sherwood- The big man earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a freshman on the O line, and moves well for a kid still so young with his size. With continued progression he could be a legit recruit at the D1 level.

UPDATE: The Sherwood big man returns on one of the most talented and experienced lines in the state. The only question comes with mobility, and how they will use him on D, as he helps to offset numbers.

14.[player_tooltip player_id='406756' first='Jake' last='Normoyle'] 6-3 270 OL West Linn- Normoyle will end up playing D1 ball at some level and potentially starting as a Sophomore for the #1 ranked team in the state. His projection will depend on continued growth as he will be a multiyear 1st team all-state kid.

15.[player_tooltip player_id='407439' first='Brody' last='Thomas'] 6-1 205 RB/S Sheldon- The brother of all everything D1 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='110187' first='Brock' last='Thomas']. The Irish are super deep this season with an incredibly talented senior class, so it might be another year, but he is one of Oregon's best for the class.

16.[player_tooltip player_id='285871' first='Kaden' last='Martirano'] 6-2 190 QB West Salem- Head Coach Shawn Stanley is one of Oregon's all-time greats. He has coached some of the state's top QB's and overall athletes, and Martirano has the potential of being in that conversation.

UPDATE: Martirano will have an opportunity to break records for West with Coach Stanley coaching and producing some of the state's top QBs and overall talent.

17.[player_tooltip player_id='285866' first='Liam' last='Davis'] 6-1 170 QB/Safety/ATH Lake Oswego- Played varsity ball as a freshman and will be a major player in the years ahead. Could very well start both ways next season. He will be a big part of the Lakers future and a top athlete within Oregon.

UPDATE: One of the most impressive off seasons of any player on this list. Davis is known for his overall athleticism and plays with the confidence necessary to start at QB from a young age.

18.[player_tooltip player_id='285869' first='Ryan' last='Holmes'] 6-2 210 OLB West Linn- The Holmes family definitely doesn't disappoint. Look for Ryan to be a problem for opponents within the TRL from an early age. The Lions are so loaded playing time is a question mark.

UPDATE: As noted ALL the Holmes kids can play, with one playing D1 ball at OSU, and the other returning as a 1st team all TRL D end. Look for Ryan to potentially start on the O line as well.

19.[player_tooltip player_id='407174' first='Jacob' last='Paaga'] 6-1 265 DT West Salem- Head coach Shawn Stanley is one of the best head to ever represent the state. Paaga will be another interior talent as Stanley has coached some of the best to come out of Oregon.

20.[player_tooltip player_id='407255' first='Brigham' last='Davis'] 5-10 160 DB/ATH Lakeridge- People have raved about this kids' ability. Davis will most likely start for a top 5 6A Pacers program, who is a legit conference and state title contender. He is a D1 kid at some level depending on continued growth.

21.[player_tooltip player_id='285876' first='Kameron' last='Rague'] 5-11 175 DB Cascade Christian- Rague did a little bit of everything as a freshman starting at the Safety position, while contributing at RB. Even as a youngster his ability to hit was impressive, making 63 total tackles with 5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks on the year. His 9.1 yards per carry average and 3 TDs offensively speak to his overall athleticism.

UPDATE: Rague has a stock that is sky rocketing as he looks to be one of the top players in the state regardless of classification. Look for him to be a small school Oregon POY favorite this season.

22.[player_tooltip player_id='406758' first='Kainoa' last='Hayes'] 6-2 225 DE Central Catholic- Expect Hayes and teammate Zac Davis to be a problem for opponents. Kainoa looked outstanding at off season camps and with continued growth will rank among the top defenders in the state.

23.[player_tooltip player_id='407437' first='Tanner' last='Starbuck'] 5-11 170 RB/S Stayton- Not a lot of people know about him yet, but he should be a favorite for 4A Oregon POY honors in the coming seasons. As a freshman he went for 9 TDs in 4 games, also excelling on D.

24.[player_tooltip player_id='285865' first='Kelvin' last='Horton'] 6-1 180 RB/LB Glencoe- Kelvin is the brother of Logan Horton now at Oregon St. One of the top fullbacks to come out of Oregon in some time. He has similar traits and could assume a role much like all everything 2022 athlete Royce Fasel.

UPDATE: GHS has a lot to look forward to under Coach Ian Reynoso's leadership. Look for Horton to play a major role with the graduation of a couple of Oregon's top 22s.

25.[player_tooltip player_id='406761' first='Trey' last='Kennedy-Coleman'] 6-3 240 DL North Medford- This kid is young for the grade and should still play early and be one of the best in the SWC in the coming seasons. He looked great at off season camps and workouts.

Per usual rankings are based on who projects highest at the collegiate level. There is still a lot yet to be determined with athletes still being so young.
