From the stars we know to the names you don't, the opening week of high school along South Carolina's northeastern corridor is gonna be loaded with impact guys.

We're cutting to the chase.

Here are 10 names you can learn up on to impress your friends before this week's games.

[player_tooltip player_id='340390' first='James' last='Brockington'], DT, Kingstree

A weight-room junkie who also happens to be 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, Brockington could have a field day in the debut game for the new Kingstree High School against a Manning team that missed the playoffs last season.

Wyatt Cannon, QB, Myrtle Beach

Likely to start against Class 3A powerhouse Camden, Cannon got some reps last year and last week in the CNB Kickoff Classic. He's got some sneaky arm strength and how now issue leaving the pocket.

[player_tooltip player_id='336119' first='Jake' last='Doty'], WR, Myrtle Beach

Doty (pictured) has college slot receiver written all over him. He's ultra-reliable on called scripted plays and never stops moving when things break down (See: Above). Doty might just put up 700 receiving yards this season before the end of the regular season.

[player_tooltip player_id='336138' first='Deuce' last='Hudson'], QB, West Florence

Against Lexington in the season opener a year ago, Hudson burst onto the scene by rushing for 139 yards and a score and passing for another 107 yards. He's not going to surprise the Wildcats staff this time around, but he could still have a big night.

La'Ontray Knox, RB, Loris

With [player_tooltip player_id='202744' first='Randall' last='Bellamy'] likely out for the season opener against Green Sea Floyds - and with the Trojans likely down a couple of players of their own - Friday could include a steady diet of Knox carries. He averaged 8 yards per carry and had seven scores last year in part-time duty.

Douglas McKendrie, QB, Hartsville

As much as we've said about the Red Foxes's tailbacks, McKendrie is a big reason why we think Hartsville can do big things in 2022. He threw for 1,279 yards, rushed for 367 and totaled 12 touchdowns last year.

[player_tooltip player_id='340389' first='Caden' last='O'Keefe'], RB, Socastee

Socastee is ready for O'Keefe to take over, and his first chance comes Friday at North Myrtle Beach. For all the talk of the Braves's other skill positions, O'Keefe is a steadying hand with a chew-up-yards type of potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='208353' first='Quincy' last='Rhodes'], DB, South Florence

Against a Goose Creek squad that is going to try to let [player_tooltip player_id='91143' first='Drew' last='Moore'] air it out, Rhodes is the type of safety who could be parked at Moore's eye level all game. Rhodes had four of South Florence's interceptions this year, and he's looking to add to his career total.

Semaj Whittington, LB, Conway

The Tigers' top returning tackler from last season notched 49.5 stops as a junior. He'll have every chance to bolster his senior tally right off the bat against a team (Hartsville) that runs the ball non-stop.
