Jonathan Gough
Jonathan Gough 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB | 2024
GA

Throughout any state, there tends to be a high volume of players that are largely undiscovered, and who have plenty to prove. In the state of Georgia, this happens to be the case in every single town. Because of this, we have taken some time to dive into the 2024 class, and to do some research/watch film on some of the more talented, and unheard of QB's that the state has to offer. Below, you will see some of our favorites that have been listed.
Carson Parker- Habersham Central
While many Georgia High School football fans have not heard of Habersham, the program has still pushed out its own fair share of talented athletes, and prospects. At the QB position, Parker already got to see time on the field last year as a sophomore, and to be precise, he got to play in 10 total games. In these games, he averaged around 130.4 passing yards a game, further contributing to a percentage of around 50 percent. In addition to this, Parker also got to witness the good and the bad of playing the QB position at an elevated level of competition. He passed for 7 TD's, and a total of 10 interceptions. Overall, even though he had more turnovers than TD's, due to his raw skill, and ability to throw the football, we have high expectations for him next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="252806" first="Jonathan" last="Gough"]- Adairsville
Just like Parker, Gough got to play in a decent amount of games for his team last season, finding himself in 11 total games in 2021. This is not only a reflection of his team as a whole, but of his leadership, and the way that he contributed with his arm, and ability to pass the ball effectively. Last season, he averaged around 113.1 yards a game, while further contributing to a season total of 1,244 yards. In addition to this, he also passed for 14 TD's, and threw for 8 interceptions as well. This upcoming year, we expect him to continue to add to this total, and to continue to lead his team effectively.
Kirkland Cannon- Brantley County
During the 2021 season, Cannon got to witness 11 games of fast-paced, high school football. Not only was this a bit of a step up from what he is probably used to, but he was forced to get out of his comfort zone and make plays with his arms, including in windows, and tight fit situations. Cannon threw for over 1,175 yards total last year, and averaged around 106 yards a game. By the end of the year, he had a total of 121 completions, in which 10 of them were touchdowns, and 7 of them were interceptions. While we would like to see him improve in his decision making, we certainly feel that he has the ability to be an effective leader, and to command the field every time that his offense lines up.
Braydon Scarborough- Elbert County
Even though Scarborough only played in about 9 games last season, he still made the most out of it for a young player. Last season, Scarborough threw for over 1,170 yards, and averaged around 130.6 yards in the air per game. In addition to this, he witnessed himself pass for a total of 88 completions. Out of these completions were plenty of growth opportunities, and chances for him to shine. By the end of the year, Scarborough threw 9 TD's, and 8 interceptions. While he has a talented arm, he is still very raw, and has plenty of work to do when it comes to his decision making. Moving forward, even though he plays for a bit of a smaller program, he is certainly worth tracking to see how he progresses.
