I take a look at and share my observations on each school’s top offensive and defensive prospects I witnessed at the game. This game was mostly a grind it out defensive battle between the for the most part. Not a lot of big offensive numbers put up by either squad. Here is my take on the top offensive prospects for North Kansas City and Hickman.
NORTH KANSAS CITY
Garin Walton
Garin
Walton
5'10" | 150 lbs | QB
Platte County | 2024
MO
| 2024 | 6’0″ | QB |
Junior QB transfer from Platte County Garin Walton Garin Walton 5'10" | 150 lbs | QB Platte County | 2024 MO didn’t have big stats on the night (7-16 1 TD) as the Hornets used their ground game and defense to victory, but he showed a nice skill set , including how he ran his teams offense and his leadership with his teammates. Garin throws nice, accurate passes and doesn’t force things. He sees the field well and delivers the ball on the money. He has good arm strength and is also athletic enough to pick up yards with his feet when needed. The Hornets have a solid field general in charge to make their offense go this season.
Quinton Bradley
Quinton
Bradley
6'3" | 300 lbs | DL
North Kansas City | 2024
State
MO
| 2024 | 6’3″ | OL |
Another transfer into NKC is 6’3″ 300 LT Quinton Bradley Quinton Bradley 6'3" | 300 lbs | DL North Kansas City | 2024 State MO , who played at KC Central the last two years, and has been on my radar since he was a freshman. He stood out at the last two KC Varsity combines, and showed the potential he had displayed at those events on Friday night using his size, strength and athleticism battling another future D1 prospect al night from his left tackle position. Bradley moves well, has quick feet and his blocking played a big part in the run game success his team used to control the game for most of the night. He’ll play on the interior in college.
Chase Porter
Chase
Porter
6'0" | 170 lbs | WR
North Kansas City | 2023
State
MO
| 2023 | 6’0″ | WR |
The speedy and elusive Porter showed his talents running, catching and returning the ball on special teams on Friday night. He caught the lone passing TD in the game from 16 yards out. Porter is a threat in multiple ways in the offense, but does the little things to help his team, including as a blocker. Chase is also a leader on and off the field.
Jermaine House | 2023 | 5’10” | RB |
The 5’10” 180 House runs much bigger then his size. He was a hardnosed inside runner for the Hornets, and was the main focus of their offense carrying the ball 25 times for 105 yards and TDs. House was a workhorse in their offense and was a tough, physical runner who was tough to bring down with one tackler. He displayed surprising strength to go along with his quickness.
Terrell Gicinto | 2024 | 6’2″ | WR |
The younger brother of former Mizzou WR Dominic Gicinto did a nice job of contributing to his teams offense with his blocking ability. Terrell is a big, physical target with good hands who has made made a nice transition from playing QB early in high school. He runs very well and has the talent to be a real factor in North Kansas City’s passing attack during the 2022 season.
Jackson Baehr | 2023 | 6’4″ | TE |
Another big, physical target for the Hornets in their passing game is the 6’4″ 250lb Baehr, who is like having an extra offensive lineman out their with his blocking ability. In fact, I would not be surprised if that transition happened on the high school level. Baehr also can be an effective weapon in the passing game as well. He runs well and does a good job getting separation from defenders and shows nice hands when the ball is thrown to him. His blocking ability was important on Friday night.
Kaden Cowling
Kaden
Cowling
6'3" | 330 lbs | OL
North Kansas City | 2023
State
MO
| 2023 | 6’3″ | OL |
Speaking of blocking ability, the massive 6’3″ 320lb offensive guard Kaden Cowling Kaden Cowling 6'3" | 330 lbs | OL North Kansas City | 2023 State MO played a major role in the Hornets ability to grind the ball on the ground against the Kewpies up the middle and in short yardage and goal line situations. Cowling is a powerful run blocker and also does a nice job in pass pro.
Ezra Peterson Ezra Peterson 6'1" | 225 lbs | ATH North Kansas City | 2024 State MO | 2024 | 6’1″ | RB |
Although he didn’t play on Friday night because of a sore hamstring, I have to mention the 6’1″ 235lb Peterson, who is listed as a running back this season. The super athletic Peterson can play multiple positions on offense and defensive and help both in the run and passing game. He started high school at Staley before transferring to North Kansas City and was one of the top performers at the 2021 Elite Football combine in St. Louis having hit a 37″ vertical jump at 222lbs and had among the top testing numbers in the power ball toss and broad jump as well. He’s a prospect to watch this season as it unfolds.
Elvis Pernell | 2026 | 5’8″ | RB |
This freshman running back deserves a mention not only for his first name, but for his impressive running ability he showed in his limited action. He is quick, strong and has good speed. He almost scored his first high school TD but just fell short. It looks like he’ll see more varsity time as the season progresses. Definitely a player to keep an eye on for the future.
COLUMBIA HICKMAN
Brock Camp Brock Camp 6'7" | 240 lbs | TE Hickman | 2025 State MO | 2025 | 6’6″ | TE |
The 6’6″ 240 Camp has all the makings of a big-time P5 TE prospect. Also a talented basketball player, Camp is a talented big athlete who can really run, has soft hands, and runs nice routes playing in the slot as a big receiver. He can also line up in the traditional use of a TE and blocks well. He only made one catch on Friday but was impressive running downfield and making the grab. Brock can be as good as wants to be and puts the time in to improve his skill set. Look for colleges to take notice of him the rest of this season.
Carter Holliday
Carter
Holliday
6'4" | 175 lbs | QB
Hickman | 2025
State
MO
| 2025 | 6’3″ | QB |
The Hickman QB was under pressure the entire night, mostly from Alabama commit Edric Hill Edric Hill 6'3" | 270 lbs | DL North Kansas City | 2023 State MO , and was on the run not being able to set up in the pocket and find receivers, mostly throwing on the run, which is why he didn’t put up good numbers. Carter does however possess all the tools you could want in a quarterback. He has the size, athleticism, arm, feet and ability to make the throws when he has the time to do so. I can see what he is capable of and he looks like a future college QB prospect.
Tionne Milo | 2024 | 5’11” | WR/ATH |
The talented junior was the Kewpies best weapon on the night against North Kansas City using his elusive running ability to gain 73 yards on 8 carries from his receiver position. He’s a playmaker who has the ability to make people miss and extend the play for extra yards. Tionne is tough to tackle in the open field by one defender running the ball or after the catch.
Devin Holt
Devin
Holt
6'2" | 185 lbs | WR
Rock Bridgr | 2025
State
MO
| 2025 | 6’1″ | WR |
Devin didn’t see a lot of action in the opening game but needs to be mentioned among Hickman’s top offensive prospects. Holt has great size and speed and is a surehanded receiver when targeted,. He’s still developing his skills and should be a solid college prospect by or before his senior year. He tested very well at this past year’s Elite Football combine and showed a lot of promise against some top competition.
