The entire state - and even outside of Iowa for that matter - will be focused on what happens in Class 5A, District 1 this fall.

That is where state favorite Ankeny will set up shop, led by Iowa State commits [player_tooltip player_id='104081' first='JJ' last='Kohl'] and [player_tooltip player_id='24030' first='Jamison' last='Patton'].

Kohl, a quarterback, will have another incredible weapon to work with in Patton, one of the top athletes in the state. Patton transferred to the school from Des Moines Roosevelt.

And while Ankeny is at the top, there are several other key faces to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id='104081' first='JJ' last='Kohl'] - Ankeny - QB

Elite in every sense of the word. That is how to best describe [player_tooltip player_id='104081' first='JJ' last='Kohl']. The Ankeny senior spent the summer showcasing himself to the nation, excelling in earning a scholarship to Iowa State.

Last year, Kohl led the Ankeny offense, completing 60 percent of his passes for almost 2,200 yards with 25 touchdowns and just four interceptions. He has excellent size, a ridiculously powerful arm and great awareness in the pocket.

[player_tooltip player_id='24030' first='Jamison' last='Patton'] - Ankeny - WR/S

Already one of the top offenses in the state, Ankeny took another step towards claiming the 5A state title with the arrival of [player_tooltip player_id='24030' first='Jamison' last='Patton']. Patton, who took a visit to UCLA over the summer, also signed with Iowa State to join new teammate [player_tooltip player_id='104081' first='JJ' last='Kohl'].

At Des Moines Roosevelt a year ago, Patton did it all. He threw for almost 1,300 yards with a 14-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio, while also running for 548 yards and even more scores.

His best position in the future, though, could be in the secondary. Patton is an athletic safety that can really make you pay for testing him.

[player_tooltip player_id='247561' first='Ayden' last='Price'] - West Des Moines Valley - WR

Listed at quarterback a season ago, we could see [player_tooltip player_id='247561' first='Ayden' last='Price'] shift back there after the graduation of West Des Moines Valley's starter. As a wide receiver last year, he caught 37 passes for 464 yards with four touchdowns, averaging 12.5 yards per catch.

A super athlete, Price also ran for 103 yards and a score, while also handling kick return duties, where he averaged 24 yards per touch.

[player_tooltip player_id='152928' first='Nick' last='Rebik'] - Marshalltown - RB/LB

A force on both sides of the ball, Marshalltown senior [player_tooltip player_id='152928' first='Nick' last='Rebik'] will look to do it all again for the Bobcats this fall. Last season, he ran for a team-high 422 yards, averaging 7.4 yards per carry with five touchdowns.

He also showcased his skills in the passing game with six receptions spanning 81 yards and a score. On defense, Rebik was all over the field, recording 48 tackles, seven of which came from behind the line of scrimmage.

And for added measure, he also returned two kickoffs back for touchdowns, averaging 36 yards per touch while forcing three turnovers on defense.
