We are officially over a quarter of the way through the regular season, but how do the top teams in 5A stack up after three games?

1. Lehi Pioneers

The Pioneers have outscored their opponents 138-7 through three games, the largest point differential in the state. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='406873' first='Jackson' last='Brousseau'] is in the state's top five for passing yards and touchdowns, while defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='406863' first='Isaac' last='Terrell'] is in the state's top three sack leaders. Lehi head coach Ed Larson recently became the winningest coach in school history and should continue to rack up victories with this team in 2022.

2. Timpview Thunderbirds

The Thunderbirds have won all three of their games by at least 20 points and have yet to give up more than 14 points in a game. Timpview will be tested on both sides of the ball in the next two weeks as they take on two teams in our 6A top 10 in Bingham and Skyridge. The Thunderbirds will be ready for the challenge with arguably the best offensive and defensive lines in the state.

3. Springville Red Devils

The Red Devils were nearly toppled by the Bountiful Redhawks last Friday but came up clutch late to secure the 18-17 win. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='406866' first='Ryder' last='Burton'] found tight end Walker Deede in the end zone with 19 seconds left to take the lead, similarly to their walk-off win in the semifinals over Orem in 2021. Springville has another tough bout this week as they take on Riverton and will try to recapture their offensive firepower from weeks one and two.

4. Park City Miners

The Miners have held their three opponents to 10 points or less. Park City will also take on their toughest test of the season to this point when they face off against East. The Miners have been strong on the ground, where three different players have rushed for two touchdowns.

5. Stansbury Stallions

The Stallions have been incredibly productive on offense scoring 182 points in three games. Running back [player_tooltip player_id='406862' first='Mateaki' last='Helu'] and quarterback Ezra Davis have 22 combined touchdowns on the season. The Stallion's potent offense is set up for success throughout the season.

6. Viewmount Vikings

The Vikings jumped out to a 27-7 lead going into the half against Copper Hills. The Grizzles outscored them 20-10 in the second half, but Viewmount was able to hold on for the win. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='406897' first='Luke' last='Jacobs'] continues to impress with 12 touchdowns on the season, while the defense has only given up more than 10 points in one quarter in three games.

7. Skyline Eagles

Coming off their first season loss to Springville, the Eagles responded with a 35-17 win over Post Falls, Idaho. Wide Receiver [player_tooltip player_id='406874' first='Miles' last='Hall'] remains one of the state's most electric players, while [player_tooltip player_id='406966' first='Bo' last='Tate'] continues to be a force at both linebacker and running back. Skyline will take on Bountiful this Friday in what should be an exciting game.

8. Brighton Bengals

The Bengals squeezed out another tight win as they beat Woods Cross 28-21. Receiver Nash Matheson continues to impress on offense, with over 300 yards through three games. On defense, the Bengals have three players with over 20 tackles and four more over 15.

9. Bonneville Lakers

The Lakers make an appearance in the top 10 for the first time this season after their impressive 38-20 victory over Weber to move to 3-0. Quarterback Jaxon Johnson has looked sharp to start the season, and the Laker's defense has held two of their three opponents to under 14 points.

10. East Leopards

The Leopards started the season 0-2 but look to be righting the ship after an impressive 43-10 win over Fremont. Running backs [player_tooltip player_id='406878' first='Amini' last='Amone'] and Nunu Fonua each rushed for two touchdowns in the win that should give the Leopards momentum going into their big game against Park City this Friday.
