At the heart of it all is the final score on the scoreboard. Players that manage to consistently put up points for their teams are the ones who tend to not only get recruited, but to get the most amount of touches in the game. Whether this comes in the form of a receiver, or back, the fact remains that a consistent scorer makes all the difference in the world. Below, we have listed the best returning scorers from last year, as we fully expect them to make a great impact for their teams next season when given the chance.
2025: Zayden Walker (RB)- Schley County
Impressive enough, not only did Walker lead his entire class throughout the state of Georgia when it came to scoring, but he also finished the season with 136 total points, which is an even bigger total than plenty of players finish up with throughout the state. In addition to this, Walker also averaged around 11.3 points a game, which not only helped contribute to wins, but it put his team in position to make a run in the playoffs as well. While this run was short-lived, we also recognize that his contributions were done as a true freshman, and we fully expect for him to return next season with even more than 22 TD’s on the ground for his team.
2024: Jordan Triplett (RB)- Frederica Academy
During the 2021 season, Triplett not only seemed to carry the load for his offense, but he managed to carry the load of it’s scoring. By the time the season ended, he finished up with about 188 total points, and an average of 18.8 points a game. To add to this, he also saw a total of 31 TD’s by the end of the year, making him one of the most productive backs in the state and class. Next season, especially as we expect him to see more touches of the football, expect him to finish even stronger, with even more points, and scores on the ground.
2023: Keyjuan Brown (RB)- South Atlanta
Far beyond even the second leader in scoring for his team last season, Brown performed at an all time great level, as he not only racked up 278 points for his team last year, but he managed to average around 21.4 points a game. To explain how crazy this is, this is almost 3-4 TD’s a game. By the end of the season, Brown saw a total of 42 TD’s, which is a bright sign for any damage he will do on the ground for his team next year, as we fully expect him to return to all-state form.
2023 Justice Haynes (RB)- Blessed Trinity
While it should not come as a surprise that Haynes made this list, it should also be noted that every single point that he earned for his team last year was earned. By the end of the season, Haynes managed to rack up a total of 186 points within a 12 game span. In these 12 games, Haynes not only averaged around 15.5 points a game, but he finished the season with 31 total TD’s. While a majority of these TD’s were on the ground, we could also credit this to his ability to tote the rock effectively, with shifty, and fluid movement skills. Expect Haynes to find his way towards the top of the total scoring list next season as well.
