Cumberland County, a small county in the southern part of New Jersey that is filled with talent that often go unnoticed. Today, we are going to put some spotlight on some athletes that are diamonds in the rough.

Mr. Powell is solid athlete with tremendous upside. He has a lean athletic build with plenty of room for additional muscle mass. After watching Powell last season, he showed ability to play at the next level. He plays with good technique and has very good ball skills. Powell also has good awareness and closes in on the ball very well. He never panics and trust his speed. He has a good feel for the game and should make some noise this season. Powell is having a great offseason performing well at many showcase camps.

Mr. Hitchens is deep threat target that can stretch the field. He has good hands and attacks the ball out of the air. Hitchens runs good routes and is a reliable red zone target. He is Vineland’s #1 receiver and most reliable pass catcher. Hitchens has good speed and will always get positive yards after the catch. He hauled in 18 catches for 271 yards and 2 TD’s. He is a top returner heading into this season. Make sure you keep your eyes on Hitchens.

Mr. Zamot will take over under center to lead the defending Group IV state champions. Zamot is a pro-style with strong arm and good accuracy. He has seen action last season. Therefore, he is no stranger to the speed of the game. Zamot has good pocket presence and sense of leadership ability to him. He makes smart decisions with the football and will not force throws. Zamot does a good job getting the ball out quickly and reading coverages. He will lead Millville under their new head coach.

Mr. Adamson is a three- star prospect that currently does not have an offer. He is sneaky athletic with a thick lower body. Adamson has a quick first step with an aggressive hand strike. He plays with good pad level and has good agility. Adamson does a good job creating pressure and getting in the backfield. Last season, he recorded 13 TFL, 0.5 sacks, 1 FR, and 47 tackles. Bottom line, Adamson is a relentless worker and has what it takes to play at the next level.

Mr. Mosley was the starting quarterback last season. He is a dual-threat that is dangerous outside of the pocket. Mosely is very fast and does a good job throwing on the run. He is the type of player that is the most athletic and can play any skill position on the field. Mosley has great vision and open field ability. It is difficult to bring him down and once he is past the second level he is off to the races. Expect to see a heavy dose of Mosley this season.
