We have a handful of wide receivers in this article as they dominated on their field game in and game out. There are some guys on here who are still working hard for an offer to play at the next level, and they have game.
WR Nathan Salz Nathan Salz 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Katy Jordan | 2023 State TX | 6’0″ 160lbs | 2023 | Katy Jordan
Speed, speed, and more speed is Nathan Salz Nathan Salz 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Katy Jordan | 2023 State TX ’s calling card. Even if a DB is in off coverage there’s not stopping Salz once he gets going vertical. He also brings consistent hands and a phenomenal understanding of route running to the field. Salz is a smart WR, he doesn’t just rely on his 4.37-4.42 speed. Many guys with that type of speed can’t control it, but Salz does a great job of throttling down and bursting out his breaks. At the top of his routes, he will give head fakes that help create extra separation. His footwork is very quick and crisp, you won’t catch him getting stuck in his breaks. Nathan Salz Nathan Salz 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Katy Jordan | 2023 State TX has all the tools of a college receiver that schools have taken notice of, including Arkansas Monticello who has offered the speedy wideout.
My highlights from #State7on7 Follow the orange cleats lol! Wish we’d made it past 5 games but was still a great experience w my TX 6A @JHSWarriors_FB teammates. We all played tough! @densilva02 @TylerTyre @RivalsWoody @TomLoy247 @AndrewHatts @KeithBlackmon @EvanShumard pic.twitter.com/XcjlFq8qZP

DB Kai Guillory | 5’11″ 175lbs | 2023 | Ft. Bend Marshall
Kai Guillory is in store for a big 2022 campaign. His presence was felt by opposing pass-catchers because not many plays were made on him. Guillory plays on his toes and attacks the football when it’s headed his way. Even though he can make plays on the ball, he’s still very patient in coverage. He only bites when appropriate. Guillory can play physical at the line or play off and still be successful.
CB Paul Lucas | 5’10″ 155lbs | 2024 | Ft. Bend Marshall
Paul Lucas was on lock during the state tournament. Technically, Lucas is sound while still playing with great speed to match any receiver. He has a great sense of when the receiver is cutting that keeps him in position to break up passes. In his back peddle, he says with correct form and can flip his hips with no wasted movement. With his speed, it’s hard for him to get beat over the top as he did a great job of not letting much over his head. Paul Lucas is continuing to work in pursuit of his first offer.
WR Carter Kinkaid | 6’3″ 170lbs | 2023 | Coppell
It wasn’t very hard to notice Carter Kinkaid’s performance. There’s so much that Kinkaid brings to his offense that he was a massive reason they had the success they did at state. On all levels of the field, Kinkaid is a threat to watch out for. He gets open it seems effortlessly on the intermediate and deep levels. While he may not have the fast 40, he still can generate separation and beat you deep. On contested catches, Kinkaid was a winner the vast majority of the time. He brings jump balls down in his possession with his strong hands and long arms. This 2023 wideout put on a show that has increased his stock as he’s playing for his shot at the next level.
WR Baron Tipton | 6’4″ 180lbs | 2024 | Coppell
On the other side of the field for the Coppell Cowboys is “X” receiver, Baron Tipton. There is nothing but dominance from Tipton when the football is in the air. There’s no issue for Tipton of sinking his hips or leaving his feet in the ground in his routes. He’s quick and precise in his route tree and has success on more than just the jump ball. Tipton does a great job of working the blind spot of the corner, especially on his out routes. Another WR here with great size, hands, and strong route-running but is still waiting for his first offer.
WR Dylan Rhodes | 6’2″ 180lbs | 2023 | McKinney
Dylan Rhodes had an impressive showing with his performance. I love his hands. Nothing is out of reach for the McKinney wideout. Even with defenders draped on his back, he still managed to haul the passes in. Most of the time, tough catches aren’t necessary for him, as he can get open at all three levels of the field. Rhodes can win against man coverage against the best of them. No matter how fast or big his matchup is, he overshines and wins reps. This is a guy to have on your radar. He currently sits with no offers but has the talent to provide for a university for four years.
WR Tristan Brown | 5’9″ 160lbs | 2024 | Lamar
Tristan Brown is the complete package. With his speed, he blows past defenders for easy touchdowns. Lamar has a talented squad and Brown was a major part, scoring in every contest I saw him perform in. Guarding Brown is no easy match as his athletic ability going along with his natural tracking skills, makes him a touchdown machine. Tristan Brown has already picked up steam in his recruiting, rolling into his junior year with early offers from UTSA and Texas Tech.
