I have begun team previews of some of the top teams in the Raleigh/Durham region.  There are a lot of talented players throughout the region.  The previews will highlight the recruits on the teams featured.  A high level of competition is expected as the high school season starts in late August. Seventy - First HS is making an impact in the Southeast Region with a mixture of veteran and young players.  [player_tooltip player_id="286177" first="Deandre" last="Nance"] (6'2" 175, RB) is a talented young quarterback who delivers accurate short and medium range passes.  He finished last season with 928 passing yards and 9 passing TDs.  He will hand the ball off to Anthony Quinn Jr. (6'1" 185, RB) and [player_tooltip player_id="121181" first="Jayden" last="Shotwell"] (5'9" 190, RB).  Anthony finished last season with 1,870 rushing yards and 32 TDs.  Jayden finished last season with 1,057 rushing yards and 13 TDs.  They are one of the top running backs combinations in the state.  [player_tooltip player_id="381024" first="Ashton" last="Williams"] (6'0" 255, OL), [player_tooltip player_id="381011" first="Ziare" last="Ealy"] (5'10" 250, OL), [player_tooltip player_id="381012" first="Montez" last="Shaw"] (6'0" 280, OL), and [player_tooltip player_id="304424" first="Nicholas" last="Bailey"] (6'3" 290, OL) are a technique-sound offensive line that excels at controlling defenders, while opening lanes for two explosive running backs. [player_tooltip player_id="286967" first="Hector" last="Bautista"] (5'10" 195, DL), [player_tooltip player_id="381028" first="Christopher" last="Herman"] (5'11" 210, DL), and [player_tooltip player_id="381027" first="Khristian" last="Cotton"] (6'6" 280, DL) are quick out of their stances to make contact with blockers, while moving past them to make stops.  Hector finished last season with 109 total tackles, 25 of the tackles were for losses. They are expected to anchor the defensive line.  [player_tooltip player_id="381031" first="Raymond" last="McCray"] (6'2" 230, LB) and [player_tooltip player_id="381015" first="Melik" last="Thomas"] (6'0" 195, LB) moved well laterally with speed to cover ground quickly for stops.  Raymond finished last season with 97 total tackles, 18 of the tackles were for losses.  Melik finished last season with 60 total tackles, 17 of the tackles were for losses.  They are expected to anchor the second line of defense.  [player_tooltip player_id="381025" first="Omar" last="Houston"] (6'0" 180, DB) and [player_tooltip player_id="381026" first="Donovan" last="Davis"] (6'0" 165, DB) are able to change directions quickly and displayed good technique in man-coverage.  Omar finished last season with 68 total tackles, 11 of the tackles were for losses.  Donovan finished last season with 53 total tackles, 2 of the tackles were for losses.  Seventy - First is expected to defend the conference crown and advance into the state playoffs.
