I have begun team previews of some of the top teams in the Raleigh/Durham region. There are a lot of talented players throughout the region. The previews will highlight the recruits on the teams featured. A high level of competition is expected as the high school season starts in late August.
A young and talented [player_tooltip player_id="371947" first="Braden" last="Atkinson"] (6'1" 185) is expected to start at quarterback for the Rams. He has displayed a strong arm and good velocity on his passes thrown during Team 7on7 competitions at UNC Team Camp. Braden is expected to lead a high-powered offensive unit. The primary targets of his passes will be distributed between wide receivers, [player_tooltip player_id="126936" first="Noah" last="Rogers"] (6'2" 185), [player_tooltip player_id="371928" first="Rory" last="Jones-Hetep"] (6'2" 180), and [player_tooltip player_id="371929" first="Dejuan" last="Mickens"] (6'0" 170). The super-talented Rogers will often be double-teamed in an effort to slow him down. Braden will hand off the ball to an explosive running back, [player_tooltip player_id="117630" first="Isaiah" last="Jones"] (5'11" 175). Isaiah has displayed the ability to run between the tackles for tough inside yardage and speed to accelerate past defenders in the open field. Standout center, [player_tooltip player_id="287829" first="Gavin" last="Marks"] (6'1" 265) and [player_tooltip player_id="371954" first="Jakobe" last="Campbell"] (6'3" 265, T) will anchor the offensive line opening lanes for the running backs and protecting the quarterback.
Standout defensive end, [player_tooltip player_id="370189" first="Carsten" last="Casady"] (6'6" 270) and [player_tooltip player_id="371951" first="Jackson" last="Angelastro"] (6'3" 230, DE) will anchor a defensive line that is stout against the run. Carsten is quick out of his stance and will be difficult to block one-on-one. [player_tooltip player_id="265089" first="Aidan" last="Pounds"] (5'9" 200) a standout linebacker will anchor the second level of defense and is expected to make an impact on defense. He moves well laterally and is a high-energy player who makes a lot of stops. [player_tooltip player_id="371953" first="Reggie" last="Love II"] (5'10" 160, DB) is expected to be the leader of the defensive secondary group. Reggie uses his quickness and athleticism to make it difficult to complete a pass against him. The Rams are expected to contend for the conference crown and advance into the state playoffs.
