With camp season coming close to wrapping up, players are trying to get in front of recruiters and attend showcases as much as possible before the start of the ’22 campaign. This third edition features one of the top prospects in the state, as well as some under the radar players to look out for this season.
Dylan Edwards Dylan Edwards 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Derby | 2023 State KS – Derby, 5’9”, 165, RB, Class of ’23
Edwards continues to make headlines ahead of his highly anticipated senior season. The Kansas State commit traveled to IMG Academy over the weekend for the Under Armour Future 50 showcase, and he grabbed everyone’s attention with his blazing speed. He was named fastest man in attendance after he won the 40-yard dash competition with a very impressive time of 4.39. This just proves that he is not only one of the fastest players in Kansas, but in the whole country as well.
Michael Canseco Michael Canseco 5'7" | 145 lbs | ATH Olathe North | 2023 State KS – Olathe North, 5’8”, 160, WR, Class of ’23
Speaking of speed, Michael Canseco Michael Canseco 5'7" | 145 lbs | ATH Olathe North | 2023 State KS is another prospect that turned some heads last week. He was able to show off his explosiveness while at Baker University’s camp, where he was clocked at 4.43 in the 40. This time could be huge for a prospect motivated to gain next level interest. With all the talent Olathe North has had on their roster the last few years, it’s been hard for Canseco to showcase his abilities. However, this season is shaping up to be much different.
Conner Neill Conner Neill 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Maize South | 2023 State KS – Maize South, 6’0”, 210, LB, Class of ’23
Not only is mid-July the time for college camps and showcases, but it is also a period for padded team camps in the state. Usually some players look a little rusty while getting reacquainted with pads, but not Conner Neill Conner Neill 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Maize South | 2023 State KS . The 5th ranked backer in the Class of ’23 rankings looked amped up for the start of the season. Neill was all over the field; constantly flying to the ball and displaying high-intensity. This showing was just a reminder of why he’s on the radar of several collegiate programs.

Ben Evans Ben Evans 6'2" | 275 lbs | DL Hayden | 2023 State KS – Hayden, 6’2”, 275, DL, Class of ’23
Camp season has definitely kept Evans busy throughout this summer. He’s hit the road to multiple colleges to showcases his nastiness in the trenches. Evans’ latest stop was at Pitt State University, where he dominated one-on-one’s as a defensive tackle. His quickness off the line would catch the opposition off guard, and his brute strength drove them back multiple yards. Evans’ game has elevated and he is without a doubt a prospect on the rise. Recruiters are starting to take note too, as he’s picked up two JUCO offers in the last week.
Jackson Voth Jackson Voth 5'11" | 185 lbs | WR Cheney | 2024 State KS – Cheney, 5’10”, 170, WR, Class of ’24
Cheney’s offense will look a bit different this year, as the Cardinals graduated some key starters from their talented 2021 squad. But they do however return Jackson Voth Jackson Voth 5'11" | 185 lbs | WR Cheney | 2024 State KS . He benefitted from Cheney’s pass heavy offense and ended up having a breakout year as a sophomore. Now Voth is looking to carry that success over into his junior year. His performance while at Emporia State was a step in the right direction. During one-on-one’s, he displayed quick footwork off the line and consistently got separation at the top of his route. Voth could be in line for a big year, as he’s likely to be the Cardinals’ top target this season.
