SEC Read Conference Top Returning Athletes

Coaching staffs love guys who can play multiple positions and make a big impact on offense and defense. The SEC Red conference features many great athletes this upcoming season. All of these guys are very impressive in the variety of ways they make plays. <strong>Owen Yount | Monroe | <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13411052/61756c44bed6e4085429b8c3">Hudl</a></strong> Yount is a tremendous athlete who plays running back and wide receiver on offense. Yount has very good acceleration and can get up field quickly. He has very good long speed and has the capability to make big play touchdowns. I love his stop-and-start ability and it is a huge factor in his ability to make defenders miss in the open field. He has a very strong muscular build and his play strength is evident in his ability to run through arm tackles. The Monroe coaching staff plans to play Yount more at defensive back this year to fully utilize his outstanding skill set. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="356413" first="Carson" last="Mitchell"] | Ann Arbor Skyline | <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2GBgPS">Hudl</a></strong> Mitchell has shown great range at the safety position. He is quick to read and react to the football when it is thrown in his area. He is an explosive kick returner who has the speed to take it the distance every time he touches it. Mitchell is a very good tackler as well and does a good job of taking proper angles to bring down ball carriers. Skyline plays Mitchell on offense at running back as well. He hits the hole quickly and can make defenders miss as well. I like Mitchell’s game a lot and look forward to seeing him make plays next season <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="30354" first="J.T." last="Mackson"] | Ypsilanti Lincoln | <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2FmmaL">Hudl</a></strong> Mackson is a fearless football player who will come up and make big hits. He has the capability to deliver hits that are hard enough to force fumbles. On offense, Mackson works out of the slot and is a great route runner. Mackson does a great job of getting open and helping out his quarterback. He has the ability to change direction quickly and make people miss in the open field. Mackson has the ability to cover man-to-man and break up passes. Mackson should make a big impact on both sides of the ball once again in 2022. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="300675" first="Sullivan" last="Mills"] | Saline | <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2GRC76">Hudl</a></strong> Mills is an outstanding linebacker for the Saline Hornets. He is great at timing up blitzes and getting after the quarterback. He has the speed and acceleration to run down ball carriers. Mills has the ability to jump up and deflect quarterback passes. Mills has good play speed and does a good job of identifying where the run play is going. I like that he does not shy away from meeting ball carriers in the hole. Mills is a key contributor on special teams and will fly down the field to make tackles. Saline had a great football team last year and they should be very good once again this upcoming season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="300675" first="Sullivan" last="Mills"] </strong>will have a big role in the success of this team. I expect him to have a great senior year with a ton of tackles.
