Jabree Coleman landed as our top running back this time last year. Coleman enters this ranking update with that same spot, now vouching for the top overall spot in his class. Huge congratulations are in order following the huge announcement made by the sophomore just last week. Wallace-Coleman announced via Twitter that he has accepted his offer from the University of Georgia and is fully committed to the program. JWC is the first Pennsylvania sophomore to announce his future intentions. I fully expect this young man to stay atop our running back rankings for years to come, can he take the top overall spot from Saunders? I think it’s possible.

It’s hard to not think of Enai White when projecting [player_tooltip player_id="142896" first="Zahir" last="Mathis"]’ ceiling. The build/frame is so similar, as is the early recruitment on a national scale, and of course his position along the defensive line. It’s never fair to compare any kid to Enai White, one of, if not the, best recruits to come out of the Public League or Philadelphia as a whole for that matter. Zahir doesn’t have tape to dissect but from what I hear out of D1 coaches, he’s every bit the specimen many make him out to be. I am not expecting a huge statistical Fall full of production however, the young man still has to get his feet wet inside a tremendous front seven that includes [player_tooltip player_id="119073" first="Jahsear" last="Whittington"] and [player_tooltip player_id="27734" first="Semaj" last="Bridgeman"] among others. I am ready to make Mathis the top overall recruit in his class, we just have to see it.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="264265" first="Khalid" last="Bueno"] | 6’2, 205 | DL/LB | Martin Luther King</strong></span></em></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="264265" first="Khalid" last="Bueno"] enters his sophomore campaign with a Bowling Green offer under his belt. They pulled the trigger early on a kid who has the ideal build to rush the passer with his hand in or off the dirt. Love how Bueno can align in multiple defensive fronts, showing excellent get-off speed at OLB or at defensive end. Bueno’s pursuit off the ball is seriously impressive. He’s a flash in the backfield and is often a step ahead of backs into designated holes. Another impressive observation, many of the reps Bueno is putting on tape are against legitimate competition, not against your average Public League linemen. Bueno is under-rated on a national scale. We will see what his future holds.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="228679" first="Semaj" last="Carmichael"] | 5’11, 185 | RB/WR | Boys Latin</strong></span></em></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="228679" first="Semaj" last="Carmichael"] might be the most electrifying prospect in this bunch. There isn’t a prospect on this list that I am more excited to see in person. Carmichael looks the part of a prospect whose athleticism is well and above those of his peers. A special talent is hidden at Boys Latin. Carmichael boasts vision that parallels some of the best backs in the state, often making running lanes appear out of thin air. I speak highly of this young man, open field elusiveness and agility is a huge plus as well. There isn’t a skill position that Carmichael can’t produce at. Excited to see him work this Fall.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="263033" first="Anthony" last="Kruah"] | 6’1, 190 | ATH/DL | Bartram</strong></span></em></span>
I still remember the show [player_tooltip player_id="263033" first="Anthony" last="Kruah"] and his older brother, Titus Kruah, put on last Fall against Simon Gratz. Each prospect put their names on my radar. Titus may have had one foot out the door but Anthony is just getting started. Kruah is an intriguing prospect because he isn’t necessarily overwhelming in the size/build category. This is something I couldn’t tell when watching him in person. All I saw was sack after sack and TFL after TFL. Kruah averaged a sack a game, registering 9 sacks on the year along with 12+ TFLs on tape. An [player_tooltip player_id="263033" first="Anthony" last="Kruah"] that can get to 6’2, 220 would be an [player_tooltip player_id="263033" first="Anthony" last="Kruah"] that would be hearing calls from programs right now. Recruitment will come in time, one thing that’s for sure, opposing tackles will have their hands full with this kid. Hope to see him continue to progress on the field.
