<strong>THE PANTHERS</strong>
While winning just one game will never make anyone happy or get players optimistic, what this coaching staff has done in the off-season may have changed the direction of this program.
With a solid spring and summer, the emphasis was on the positives – and that is something that is great news in a community that has been starved for winning football.
While many will dwell on the 35-0 loss to power St. Augustine, Gainesville Eastside (27-8), Cirta North Marion (42-15) and Callahan West Nassau (46-19), what about the other five games?
Narrow losses to Green Cove Springs Clay (32-26), St. Augustine Menedez (28-24), Newberry (37-30, 2 OTs) and Eustis (31-28) were all tight end could have gone either way. The Panthers’ lone win came at home against Weeki Wachee, 27-7, which showed that this team can come out top if they continue to put in the work.
