The prospects featured in this article, I believe, are being undervalued from a recruiting perspective. Each kid has flashed a different type of skill set, but all have one thing in common: they’ve produced at the varsity level.
These prospects range from having a few FBS offers all the way to recruits who have yet to receive a single scholarship at any level. Regardless of whether they have an offer or not, each one of these guys, I believe, should be getting more attention on the recruiting trail. Their projected level may vary from person to person, but each one has talent that I believe deserves to be seen. With that being said, here’s who you need to know!
OL: Elijah Garnes, 6’4″ 310, Taft, OH
- Has some serious pop behind his punch.
- Comfortable blocking in space.
- Noticeable hip fluidity.
- Moves extremely well for a man his size.
DB: Austin Goodrich, 6’ 170, Wheeler, IN
- An instinctive ballhawk.
- Exceptional range.
- Loose hips to easily change direction.
- Always around the football, leading to interceptions on tips and overthrows.
QB: Ryder Lambert, 6’1″ 185, Stephenville, TX
- A gunslinger that can thread the needle on all three levels.
- Teardrop thrower on the vertical ball that can put plenty of air under it for his target to run under.
- Uses his eyes as a weapon to look off safeties.
- Awfully effective on RPOs.
WR: Barry Tate, 5’10″ 150, Northeast Guilford, NC
- Has a backyard style of play, making it hard to take proper angles to the football.
- Averaged a whopping 33.6 yards per catch.
- Nasty change of direction with the ball in his hands.
- Fearless catching in traffic.
QB: Ashton Dubose, 6’2″ 180, Brennan, TX
- Quick set-up to uncork the long ball.
- Smooth, over-the-top motion.
- Refined touch thrower.
- Footwork, lower half, and arm are all in sync.
- A patient creeper as a runner letting his blocks set up between the tackles.
DE: Terrell Reynolds, 6’2″ 235, Harrisburg, PA
- Has a knack for creating turnovers.
- Totaled three defensive touchdowns in 2021.
- Elite pad level and bend for a defensive end.
- Puts speed to power creating major knockback on offensive linemen.
- Backs don’t stand a chance in full slide schemes.
ATH: Khavarie Hightower, 5’8″ N/A, Graham, NC
- Stop & start leads to major cutback opportunities.
- Contact balance and acceleration are off the charts.
- Can turn a five-yard gain into a fifty-yard gain in the blink of an eye.
- Speed gives just about any defender problems in coverage.
- One word: explosive.
