It has been a busy few weeks of recruiting news and in our latest recruiting notebook we are taking a look at one of state's top prospects making his pick and updates on three of the top quarterbacks in Missouri in the Class of 2023.

Lee's Summit standout makes his choice

Standout 2023 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='37690' first='Joshua' last='Manning'] of Lee's Summit was among the top uncommitted prospects in Missouri before making his announcement on Thursday night.

Ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in Missouri in the Class of 2023 and the No. 11 prospect overall, the 6-foot-3 and 190-pound Manning is big and fast and has good bloodlines. His father played wide receiver at Stanford and in the NFL and his mother played basketball at the University of Arkansas.

Manning received recruiting attention from coast to coast, including scholarship offers from his parents' alma maters, but on Thursday night he announced he would be staying home to continue his career at the University of Missouri.

"I feel like, as a kid, that's always your goal – to fight for your home state," Manning told reporters after his announcement. "I believe in that."

Manning, who recorded 69 catches for 900 yards and 11 touchdowns, 1,194 all-purpose yards and 12 total touchdowns as a junior, becomes the second-highest rated in-state recruit for the Tigers following Francis Howell tight end [player_tooltip player_id='37661' first='Brett' last='Norfleet']. He's the fifth in-state commitment to Missouri, following Norfleet, Troy Buchanan edge rusher [player_tooltip player_id='37663' first='Jahkai' last='Lang'], St. Mary's running back [player_tooltip player_id='173066' first='Jamal' last='Roberts'] and Liberty North kicker [player_tooltip player_id='240313' first='Blake' last='Craig'].

"I just believe in Coach Drink's vision," Manning said.

Glendale QB gets big offer

Glendale 2023 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="103378" first="Cole" last="Feuerbacher"] picked up a big scholarship offer earlier this week when hometown Missouri State extended an offer.

Feuerbacher had a big junior season a year ago. He completed 65 percent of his passes for 3,088 yards, with 35 touchdowns against five interceptions. He also rushed for a team-high 484 yards and three scores.

Junior season highlights: http://www.hudl.com/v/2GUf2K

A 6-3, 190-pounder, Feuerbacher should be one of the top quarterbacks in the Show-Me State again this fall as a senior and could pile up another few thousand passing yards in Glendale's high-powered offense.

Fort Osage 2023 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="181613" first="Greg" last="Menne"] has been one of the state's more productive quarterbacks over the past two seasons, racking up more than 3,200 passing yards and accounting for more than 30 touchdowns.

Menne has seen his recruiting take off a bit recently as he received a scholarship offer from Division 2 Central Missouri, his second D-2 offer following one from Missouri Southern last Month, and then picking up his first Division I offer from Southeast Missouri State on July 18.

Smithville 2023 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="179109" first="Andrew" last="Hedgecorth"] will attempt to lead the Warriors to a second straight state championship this fall, but appears set to hang up his football cleats at the conclusion of the season. Hedgecorth recently announced he will play baseball and not football in college.

A 5-10, 165-pound middle infielder, Hedgecorth pledged to Missouri S&T on July 9.
