The last big passing tournament of the summer is at Huntington Beach High this Saturday.

16 Southern California programs will compete in a passing league tournament and lineman competition. Soon after, the teams will go into a dead period before beginning training camp in the coming weeks.

Here is a preview of half of the field at the Huntington Beach Passing Tournament:

POOL A

Long Beach Poly

Poly has some stability now knowing that [player_tooltip player_id='115447' first='Darius' last='Curry'] will be the team's starting quarterback. [player_tooltip player_id='115473' first='Jason' last='Robinson JR'] is the headliner at receiver for Poly and he is committed to USC. He leads a receiving corps with [player_tooltip player_id='115417' first='Titus' last='Bordeaux'] and Robinson's younger brother [player_tooltip player_id='282751' first='Jadyn' last='Robinson']. The defense is led by LSU commit [player_tooltip player_id='144960' first='Daylen' last='Austin'] at corner and USC commit [player_tooltip player_id='184158' first='Dylan' last='Williams'] at linebacker. Poly is one of, if not the best team at this event on paper.

https://twitter.com/JasonR0binsonJR/status/1545915667395670016?s=20u0026t=cZzPbAg-N7ZdSAfrGGZM0Q

Santa Ana

Santa Ana is a program that keeps things close to the vest so not a lot of people know what the Saints have coming back. [player_tooltip player_id='259140' first='Sergio' last='Torres'] will be the quarterback after a strong sophomore season and a good performance at the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase in January. [player_tooltip player_id='1236303' first='Cristian' last='Ramos'] is an intriguing sophomore at receiver. Michael Hughes is a really good lineman I saw at the Allegiance camp and he may compete in the lineman competition.

https://twitter.com/SergioTorresOC/status/1533678445405753344?s=20u0026t=jlVyaxoOit9YulBqAge_Aw

Tesoro

I got a look at Tesoro at the Corona del Mar passing tournament a few weeks ago and they showed flashes of a good football team. [player_tooltip player_id='169106' first='Evan' last='Pierce'] is on a recruiting trip so I expect to see a lot of [player_tooltip player_id='190350' first='Gavin' last='Shaigineik'] at quarterback for the Titans and some of Kaden Watanabe. Junior Todd Nelson is a big target at receiver for the Titans and [player_tooltip player_id='270854' first='Mason' last='Wolfe'] has some speed on the outside. Jack Brundage is a quality defensive player for Tesoro and [player_tooltip player_id='264746' first='Jacob' last='Edward Frey'] is a linebacker who can cover big chunks in zone coverage.

https://twitter.com/TesoroFootball/status/1539964621192175616?s=20u0026t=jlVyaxoOit9YulBqAge_Aw

https://twitter.com/aliso_football/status/1547441673218576385?s=20u0026t=jlVyaxoOit9YulBqAge_Aw

Fountain Valley

Fountain Valley is a complete mystery as a team. Their best player is [player_tooltip player_id='270362' first='Matthew' last='Mena'] who is a very good offensive lineman. Scott Peshke is a big body who could be a receiver or tight end. Caine Elroy is a linebacker with size for the Barons who has gotten some small school offers.

https://twitter.com/FVBaronFootball/status/1522445671990652930?s=20u0026t=jlVyaxoOit9YulBqAge_Aw

POOL B

Foothill

Foothill is also a bit of a mystery team. I didn't get a chance to watch a lot of them at the Corona del Mar passing tournament but they played decently. [player_tooltip player_id='215875' first='Ethan' last='Charpentier'] will be a 100 tackle guy at linebacker for Foothill this year. Tyler Hawkins is a big target at receiver and baseball star. Nicholas Miali is 6-foot-5 and expected to be the quarterback for the Knights after getting minimal playing time as a sophomore.

https://twitter.com/T_Hawk2024/status/1541105458248724480?s=20u0026t=jlVyaxoOit9YulBqAge_Aw

El Toro

El Toro lost almost all of its top players from its Co-Sea View League championship team last season. Josh Vivonia is 6-foot-4 and returns at receiver. He also had five interceptions as a defensive back last season. The rest of the team is a complete mystery and I think they like it that way.

Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach is the host of the tournament and they have one of the best offensive linemen in Orange County in [player_tooltip player_id='273679' first='Justin' last='Tauanuu']. AJ Vandermade is a quality returning receiver and Nathan Tauanuu is a linebacker with some smaller school offers. Vaughn Popp figures to be the starting quarterback and has little experience but has been active on the camp circuit.

https://twitter.com/PoppVaughn/status/1541563707972587522?s=20u0026t=jlVyaxoOit9YulBqAge_Aw

Long Beach Wilson

Ian Bond will be the quarterback and kicker for Wilson. Azaan Tabari, Cruz Heavin are returning receivers and JT Kraemer is a big two-way player. Andrew Bond is a three-sport athlete at receiver and Shane Heiman is a 6-foot-1 receiver.

https://twitter.com/IanBond2024/status/1549443962598936576?s=20u0026t=jlVyaxoOit9YulBqAge_Aw
