SDE/DT Jae’von Reels, Bellarmine Prep 2023
Reels is a well balanced interior player with a quick first step and heavy hands at the POA. Playing with a low hat and quickly establishing inside hand placement and lock out, he wins with leverage and power while able to quickly get off blocks and is a strong tackler in the box. In pass rush situations, he has a quick use of hands while showing he can flip his hips and get rip underneath a punch while showing good pursuit in the open field and is a high motor player. He should find his home at 3-tech in college and will be one of the WCAL’s best in 2022.
DT Malik Dawson, Rodriguez HS 2023
Dawson is one of the more impressive interior guys across the Bay Area and moves well for his size. Coming off the ball, he is twitchy and shoots his hands quickly while violently getting off blocks and is able to split double teams and two gap when needed. When collapsing the pocket, he has quick feet and closing speed while bringing a nice thump upon contact and playing physical near the LOS. He has a rare combination of size and overall athleticism and can play anywhere from the 0-4i tech at the college level.
DL/OL Ty Jeter, Wilcox HS 2023
Jeter is one of the more under-rated two way players across the Bay Area but is in line for a monster 2022 season. He is a true plug in the middle of a tough Chargers defense and is athletic enough to two-gap while also able to rush the passer using power moves. In the run game, he shows quick block recognition and creates immediate knock-back near the LOS while playing with a low pad level and high motor. A tough and physical overall player, he is in line to be an All-League selection in 2022.
C Jordan Palega, Clayton Valley HS 2024
Palega is one of the top centers across Northern California and is a true road grader in the box while able to finish with physicality. Off the ball, he has a quick first step and strong punch with inside hands and shows good flexibility in his stance. Playing with a low hat and getting underneath interior defenders, he has a strong base through out his blocks and shows good balance when drive and down blocking. Another athletic Clayton Valley offensive lineman, he fits nicely into their heavy run scheme and is a next level player. He will no doubt be one of the top 2024 offensive lineman across the Bay Area this Fall.
