This is going to be a long series of new additions to our rankings to make sure that each young man is highlighted. That being said, there are P5 caliber recruits down to D3/JUCO recruits. The moral of the story, each of these young men did the work and deserved a spot in our rankings. We’re here to highlight their hard work. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Pt. 9 of our New Additions to the 24’ Rankings.
Dan Theiss Dan Theiss 6'3" | 250 lbs | OL St. Francis | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Theiss is an offensive tackle that flashes his ability to fire off the ball and his ability to get hands inside quickly when drive blocking the defender 5 yards downfield through the whistle. This young man also flashes his ability to mirror the rushing defender in pass protection to tie up the rushing defender at the point of attack to keep the pocket clean. Overall, this young man flashes his skill set below as an offensive tackle and I’m looking forward to seeing more of his potential come to light this fall season. Also can line up as a 3 tech on defense too.
Neil Glynn Neil Glynn 6'2" | 195 lbs | DL Richards | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Glynn is a 7 tech defensive end that flashes his ability to disengage the run block to secure the tackle on the perimeter for no gain, slip blocks to shoot the gap disrupting plays in the backfield, and closing quickly on the ball carrier. This young man reminds me of Standout Jordan Tooles with his high motor and skill set. Overall, keep an eye on Mr. Glynn as he can very well have a highly productive season on the defensive side of the ball.
Connor Folliard Connor Folliard 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Plainfield South | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Folliard flashes his ability to get the ball off under pressure both when he’s working in platform standing strong in the pocket and when he’s working on the move with pursuit closing quickly on him. Both of which he gets the ball off to keep the chains moving. This young man can also add a touch on level three throws with deep shots downfield putting the ball where his receiver can get it. He also runs the option where he showcases his foot quicks and this comes in handy when nothing is open downfield as he can pull the ball down to scramble. Overall, this is a quarterback that has the potential to become a legit dual threat quarterback and I look forward to seeing how he produces this fall.
Zachary VanLoon Zachary VanLoon 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Stagg | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. VanLoon flashes his foot quicks through the line of scrimmage and has his ability to gain a step on the 2nd level defenders to break a long run in the process. If you try to tackle him low he can break weak grab tackles by maintaining his low center of gravity and if the frontside running lane is clogged up he has the ability to bounce plays outside to keep the chains moving. Overall, this young man is more of a speed back type of runner that has the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles.
Jude Sutherland Twitter
Mr. Sutherland works as an inside linebacker that flashes his ability to plug gaps in run support and flashes his closing speed on outside the tackle runs. His closing speed is also flashed when the quarterback escapes the pocket and tries to turn the corner. In both, this young man is able to secure the tackle on the perimeter. This young man can also line up as an H back on offense as an extra blocker and can take snaps at half back as well in short yardage situations. Overall, I’m interested to see how this young man’s skill set transitions to the Varsity level this fall.
