This is going to be a long series of new additions to our rankings to make sure that each young man is highlighted. That being said, there are P5 caliber recruits down to D3/JUCO recruits. The moral of the story, each of these young men did the work and deserved a spot in our rankings. We’re here to highlight their hard work. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Pt. 8 of our New Additions to the 24’ Rankings.
Dominic Vashkelis Benson Dominic Vashkelis Benson 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Yorkville | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Vashkelis Benson works as a 7 tech where he flashes his bull rush to drive the offensive tackle back in the pocket to secure the sack, holding contain before closing on the quarterback for the sack, and working down the line of scrimmage to secure the tackle for no gain in run support as he closes down the C gap. The flashes that this young man showcases are why I’m so interested to see how his skill set transitions over to the Varsity level as well as how he produces against Varsity competition.
Joseph Brown Joseph Brown 5'9" | 160 lbs | ATH Belvidere North | 2024 IL
Turn on Mr. Brown’s highlights below and his first clip alone will make you want to continue watching his highlights as his body control is one to keep an eye on. This young man can break weak grab tackles by keeping his feet driving through the whistle and once he secures the handoff (on inside & outside the tackle runs) he gets straight N/S using his foot quicks to gain a step on the 2nd level defenders to break a long run. Overall, I’m going to be keeping a close eye on this young man this fall season as he can very well not only make his mark but come away with many honors (all conference, all area, etc.). Also has potential on the defensive side of the ball too.
Jordan Jackson Jordan Jackson 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Hillcrest | 2024 IL
Mr. Jackson works as an inside linebacker that can trigger downhill quickly in close space. Here, he can shoot through the gap and secure the tackle in the backfield as well as at the line of scrimmage for no gain. This young man is quick out of his stance and flashes good eyes to flow to the ball in run support making a play on the ball. Overall, he’s currently more of a run stopping inside backer that can disrupt plays and I’m interested to see how consistent he can be in pass coverage.
Jackson Ramos Twitter
Mr. Ramos works as an offensive guard where he flashes his ability to wash the defensive lineman down creating running lanes for the ball carrier and working up to 2nd level blocks where he can sustain blocks long enough for his running back to get by. What I’m interested to see more out of this young man is his ability to kick out the defensive end when he’s pulling and being about to deliver a strong punch at the point of attack when he’s drive blocking the defender. Overall, this young man is prone for a breakout season this fall and I’m anticipating him to see his stock rise as a result.
Michael Biesboer Michael Biesboer 6'3" | 280 lbs | OL Marian Catholic | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Biesboer flashes his ability to wash the defensive lineman down and kick out the defensive end when pulling. This young man also flashes his quickness out of his stance and ability to anchor in pass rush to absorb the bull rush at the point of attack keeping the pocket clean for his quarterback. Overall, what I’m interested in is seeing how this young man produces this fall season and how much of his untapped potential comes to light.
