This week, we’re taking a look at two defensive lineman who are difficult to block and are aggressive at the point of attack, a two-way player who shows excellent strength and a running back where one move makes all the difference.
2024 Darlington RB Davari Wilson

Analysis – Once Wilson gets into the open field, look out because it could be a score. He has the ability to burst once he gets the handoff and has excellent leg drive. His jump cuts at the line of scrimmage give him an advantage against the first threat that he sees. He can also catch the ball out of the backfield on flare passes and he doesn’t dance in space – it’s consistent north and south running for the rising junior.
2023 Lower Richland DE Deamonti Garrett (pictured above)
Twitter: @montiyoungbull
Analysis – Garrett is instinctive and aggressive as they come at the defensive end and the hybrid linebacker spot. He can chase down the running back and make tackles in space, even if the play is going to the opposite play side that he is defending. He pursues with a purpose, and based on what we saw on his film, they ended up being strip sacks. His motor is constantly going. He checked in at the Palmetto Combine Series back in April at 5’11 and 230 pounds, and walked away with the best defensive end award.
2024 Williston Elko RB/OLB Chris Davis

Analysis – At the running back position, Davis is tough to bring down with just a single tackle. We saw at least twice on his film where he kept his legs moving to pick up the extra yardage while keeping the ball high and tight. He thrives in the option offense that his team runs as he can catch the fly sweeps or execute the outside running plays well. On defense, at the cornerback position, he can defeat blocks and come up in run support to make tackles. He won the award for best broad jump at the Palmetto Combine Series back in April.
2024 White Knoll DE Tyson Cox
Twitter: @CoxTyson1
Analysis – Cox checked in at 6 foot, 259 pounds at the Palmetto Combine series back in April and he uses his size to his advantage – he pursues well and can move well from sideline to sideline. He can overwhelm offensive lineman and not allow the run play to get out of the backfield, like we saw on his film.
