Included in this article is a pair of defensive ends looking to have monster seasons, a running back set to burst onto the scene in his first season as RB1, and a 6’5″ offensive lineman with no offers yet.
G Kortez “Big Tez” Winslow – 6’5″ 290 / Nimitz HS — @BigTez05
From the moment he steps off the bus, “Big Tez” immediately passes the eyeball test. Has an excellent combination of height, weight, and length, and the strength and size to overwhelm defenders in the ground game. His power forces defensive linemen backwards and out of their gaps. As a pass protector, he places his hands well and is able to give his quarterback plenty of time to get the ball out.
Currently has no offers.
Kortez Winslow Junior Season – Hudl
DE Godgive Ugochukwu – 6’3″ 215 / Lake Dallas HS — @GodgiveUgochuk3
Ugochukwu is a long, athletic defensive end who uses those traits to keep offensive tackles off balance in his pass rush. He has a nice swim move and has the tools to speed rush and win one-on-one matchups. Does a nice job of disengaging, and flashes some explosiveness. In the run game, he’s stout at the point of attack and maintains gap integrity. Very nice skillset and raw tools make Godgive a nice prospect for a team looking for a high upside defensive lineman.
Currently has no offers.
Godgive Ugochukwu Junior Season – Hudl
QB Brayden Whitehead – 6’2″ 215 / Nimitz HS — @BraydenWhiteh19
Whitehead possesses the kind of upside you like to see in a high school senior quarterback. He’s got really nice arm strength and isn’t afraid to step in the pocket and deliver a frozen rope over the middle. Excellent student in the classroom, and that intelligence shows on Friday nights. Shows the ability to recognize different coverages, go through his progression, and find the open man. If he can become a little more consistent, I believe a college program is going to get a young man that will blossom into a quality starter in due time.
Currently has no offers.
Brayden Whitehead Junior Season – Hudl
RB Jacoby Mitchell – 6’0″ 190 / The Woodlands HS — @JacobyMitchel
Mitchell certainly looks the part of RB1, a role he steps into this season. He has impressive size and gets downhill quickly. Also shows good lateral quickness and initial burst as a zone runner. The thing I like most about him is his willingness to lower his shoulder and fight for extra yardage.
No offers yet, but took a visit to Prairie View back in March. Expectations are that he’ll have a big season for the Highlanders and offers will start to roll in.
Jacoby Mitchell Junior Season – Hudl
DE David Ifeanyi – 6’2″ 220 / The Woodlands HS — @DavidIfeanyi31
Ifeanyi lines up at LB and DE for the Highlanders, and one thing that stands out on film is his closing speed. Additionally, he’s a physical presence who isn’t afraid to take on bigger blockers, especially in the run game. Maintains gap integrity, wins one-on-one battles, and brings ballcarriers to the turf.
Currently has a D2 offer from Angelo State.
