[player_tooltip player_id="358540" first="Chris" last="Cordero"], RB, Desert Edge ’23: I love what Cordero brings to the table. A promising back entering his senior campaign with a huge role on that historically explosive Desert Edge offense. I’m definitely expecting a highly productive season from Cordero with a strong workload.
[player_tooltip player_id="220185" first="Drew" last="Tapley"], QB, Desert Mountain ’23: Desert Mountain is flat out fully loaded on offense. Tapley comes off a 2,158 yard 24 TD season through the air. We’ll see what DMHS will do with their QB situation, but whatever they do, the 1st Team All Region QB has proved he can be in the conversation among 5A’s best.
[player_tooltip player_id="115515" first="Brady" last="McDonough"], QB Desert Mountain ’24: McDonugh is another QB threat at DMHS. He landed an offer from Arizona after his dominant freshman season, then suffered a season ending injury last season as the initial QB1. He has loads of potential both with his arm and his legs to make some serious noise. It’s tough to imagine DMHS not utilizing both QB’s in some capacity since they both bring a ton of juice to the table, therefore he’s landing him a spot on this list given his natural ability and potential.
[player_tooltip player_id="110106" first="Will" last="Galvan"], ATH, Cactus ’23: Galvan is the definition of a playmaker and can really excel from anywhere on the football field. Extremely dynamic athlete with good twitch, burst, and speed while also being able to bring physicality with him. Primarily utilized at QB, Galvan will be a fun player to watch anywhere he lines up in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="110112" first="Damian" last="Jiles"], RB, Cactus ’23: Jiles is another explosive player at Cactus. Tenacious kid with competitive toughness and a raw, athletic skillset. He comes off a 16 TD season where he averaged 7.6 yards per carry. I expect Jiles to take a big leap into 2022 and put up big numbers.
[player_tooltip player_id="169412" first="Zues" last="Pindernation"], RB, Millennium ’24: A promising young back that hits the hole hard and runs with a purpose. Pindernation possesses excellent physicality, balance, and COD. Overall a very impressive RB that is a legit D1 talent that should see a heavy workload heading into his Jr. year.
[player_tooltip player_id="169419" first="Dylan" last="Tapley"], ATH, Desert Mountain ’24: Tapley is yet another big time player over at Desert Mountain. Excellent frame and build at 6’4" 205lbs with natural athleticism all across the board. He should be targeted a ton this season will have the potential to have an extremely productive season and add to his list of offers.
[player_tooltip player_id="368908" first="Dezmen" last="Roebuck"], ATH, Marana ’25: Roebuck is the lone sophomore that cracks the list, and as of right now maybe the most explosive sophomore in the state. A very dynamic player all around and is a consistent threat with the ball in his hands.
[player_tooltip player_id="211752" first="Cole" last="Linyard"], WR, Horizon ’23: Linyard could be that game changer over at Horizon. Don’t let his size fool you. He’s a clean route runner with loose hips to frequently generate separation. Holds a high position IQ and has shown to hit that second year with good top end speed for big play ability.
[player_tooltip player_id="42935" first="Max" last="Martin"], QB, Camelback ’23: Martin is sleeper to pop off heading into 2022 on a talented Camelback offense. Good command with solid arm strength, as this will be Martin’s full opportunity to show the state what he is made of.
