Justin Marshall Justin Marshall 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Merrillville | 2023 State IN , Merrillville
A speedy wide receiver, there is seemingly no limit to how Justin Marshall Justin Marshall 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Merrillville | 2023 State IN can hurt the opposing defense. He is a pure playmaker who finds ways to evade defenders- both before and after the catch. Marshall is a great route-runner. He does a good job of finding space and getting into good spots for the quarterback. Marshall is an effective ball-carrier- both as a wildcat quarterback as well as when he lines up in more of a running back role. When he gets in the open field, Marshall has the pace to outrun linebackers as well as defensive backs. Last year, Marshall piled up 695 receiving yards and 327 rushing yards.
Bryce Thoma, 5’8, 185 pounds, Chesterton
Bryce Thoma fills the running back and superback roles for the Chesterton offense well. When fulfilling the receiving part of his duties, Thoma is excellent when running out of the slot. Thoma is a great route-runner who is always capable of winning his matchup and creating separation. It is very difficult for defensive backs to keep up with Thoma in man coverage. His highlight film is replete with instances where he opens up space right out of his break. Thoma has solid speed, and he is outstanding after the catch. Thoma can also be an effective runner, requiring the defense to be on their toes anytime that he has the ball in his hands.
Jordan Woods, 6’3, 181 pounds, Hammond Central
Jordan Woods is coming off an outstanding 2021 campaign. Now, he looks to put together a dominant senior season. Woods is a consistent playmaker, evidenced by the fact that he recorded 920 receiving yards, last year. Woods caught 55 passes with a dozen touchdown receptions. He also displayed his contributions to the running-game by registering 59 rushing yards on 10 carries. Jordan Woods has all of the tools necessary to be a big contributor at the next level.
Romeo Guerra, 6’1, 150 pounds, Lake Station Edison
Romeo Guerra is a receiver on the rise at Lake Station Edison, and if his 2021 season is any indication, then he is still very much in the ascendency. Guerra played in seven games a season ago, but he made an impact when he was on the field. He caught 22 passes for a shade under 400 yards. Guerra managed to grab half-a-dozen touchdowns. He fits in perfectly with this list because, as we have seen, these prospects are not just great receivers, they are all around playmakers. Guerra is no exception. He is a very credible running threat, having ran 51 times last fall for 394 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns. Guerra also had 19 tackles and five interceptions on defense.
