The players listed are ones who have had valuable time on the field and are those who you will be able to see are ready for the challenge. These are athletes who have not feared away and some had the chance to step up last season and show us a glimpse of what they are capable of. We have offensive players for now but the defensive side will be up next!
QB Jakob Leavetts (2023) – Cy Falls
Leavetts should be returning as the primary signal caller for the Eagles after having valuable snaps last season to get comfortable with the game. He looked like a natural when on the field, diming up his receivers and getting the ball out quick. Leavetts has been building the chemistry with his receivers in the recent 7 on 7 tournament where he displayed a cool demeanor and trust with the team. Last season he already showed the mobility in the pocket and accuracy, so it will be exciting to see his development heading into next season.
RB Elijah Gerrard (2023) – Cy Ranch
It is now Gerrard’s time to shine as the primary back for the Mustangs! He is a good sized back who gets up the field and uses his size to plow through defenders. Gerrard’s physical run style will make him a real threat in the already high powered Cy Ranch offense. As long as he keeps those legs churning and ball protected, he will have a successful senior season. He will be one to keep eyes on for sure.
WR Ashton Blake (2024) – Cy Springs
Blake was the third leading receiver in yards last season as a sophomore for the Panthers and is returning as the top target. Blake showed to be a threat at all levels of the field with his smooth route running and ability to make big time catches on contested balls. He has been tearing it up recently in the 7v7 action and it looks like we will be getting a more confident and more experienced player for next season. Blake will be a name you hear a lot of.
RB Myles West (2023) – Cy Woods
West showed to be a shifty back with reliable hands out of the backfield. He returns as the back with the most experience for the Wildcat offense and third on the team in rushing last season. West is quick on his feet and hits the hole with great acceleration. He is a chain mover who can keep drives alive with his agility and has the strength to keep a pile moving. West will be another player to key in on due to his skills on the field and how he may be able to determine games with his play alone.
RB Jonathan Hill (2023) – Langham Creek
Did not get to see a lot of Hill last season, but in the limited time we saw he showed much promise at the running back position. What we do know is that he will be the guy now as the seniors before him have now graduated, so we get to see what Hill will bring to the table full time. He will get his touches and if it is anything like what was done last season, we are in for a good showing.
RB/WR Connor King (2024) – Cy Park
King alongside others will step in as the new rushing threats for the Cy Park Double Wing offense. King had some significant time last year running the ball and will see his usage bumped up. He will be relied on to use his speed to get to the outside and break off some big runs as well as maintain some drives. It will be some new faces on that offense as a whole but they are more than capable of getting back to the successful ways they saw last season. King will need to be a big part in that.
RB Noah Allen-Cuellar (2024) – Bridgeland
Allen-Cuellar showed off some fantastic running abilities last season! He displayed great strength, vision, and speed on just about every run and did not shy away from contact. He played unselfish, clearing the way for his teammates and seemed to get better with every game. Allen-Cuellar showed much potential and without a doubt proved that he is ready for the workload as the primary back.
QB Aiden Horton (2024) – Cy Woods
The Wildcats will have a new number one signal caller, but this will be nothing new for Horton who saw good snaps last season. Horton proved to be a quarterback with good mobility who can break off some good runs when needed. Horton, along with running back West, should have a good feel for the offense and we should see them not miss a beat from last season.
