Last season the Creighton Junior Jays had a 7-3 season going 4-0 in District Play along with making the State playoffs. Because of their location in the middle of Omaha the Jays end up getting a constantly hard schedule and their success puts them at the top of class A. Prep’s early season is not an easy one. Their first 4 games are nothing short of an gauntlet, here is a look at the Junior Jay’s 2022 Schedule.
<strong>Week 1 V.S. Bellevue West</strong>
<strong>Week 2 V.S. Omaha Westside</strong>
<strong>Week 3 AT </strong><strong>Millard North</strong>
<strong>Week 4 AT Gretna</strong>
<strong>Week 5 V.S. Millard West</strong>
<strong>Week 6 AT Burke</strong>
<strong>Week 7 V.S. Omaha Central </strong>
<strong>Week 8 V.S. Papillion-La Vista</strong>
<strong>Week 9</strong> <strong>V.S. Benson</strong>
The Junior Jays won’t be defenseless this season Having some great players on all sides of the ball to help against this tough schedule. They have a reloaded roster with some new players and some old mentors that will continue the success of the Junior Jays going into 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id="227009" first="CharMar" last="Brown"] is a beast of a running back Last season he had 1,067 yards on 154 carries averaging 6.9 yards per carry. He averages 118.6 yards a game, and has scored 15 rushing Touchdowns. Along with that he has 6 receptions for 62 yards and a receiving touchdowns. His talent will guide the Junior Jays into a competitor in Class A.

[player_tooltip player_id="227018" first="George" last="Egan"] is a dual threat player, even though the fullback isn’t as popular as it used to be Egan shows it can still be used in some ways. Averaging 4.8 yards a carry Egan is a tool needed on any short distance to a touchdown or a first down. Along with his 182 rushing yards he also has 2 rushing touchdowns. Not only is he a fullback he is a middle linebacker. There isn’t any stats for tackles but watching the film you can see how great George is at tackling and wrapping up.
<strong>WR, CB [player_tooltip player_id="330240" first="Pierce" last="Johnson"] 5’11 170lbs</strong>

Pierce isn’t the tallest receiver however he is efficient, he had 171 receiving yards averaging 13.2 yards on only 13 catches and 1 receiving touchdown. Along with this has one rush a 15 yard End around for a touchdown. He also supports the run game with solid blocking. Johnson also is a kick returner he had 367 yards on returns his longest was a 67 yards for a touchdown.
<strong>SS John Pargo 5’10 175lbs</strong>
<strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13067499/John-Pargo-Jr/about">Hudl</a></strong>

John didn’t play that many games this season however he did very well in those games and I think he will improve and get to play more in the coming season. Last season out of the 5 games he played he blocked two kicks and had 3 interceptions. His film is very fun and he is excellent at the safety blitz.
<strong>G, DT [player_tooltip player_id="227028" first="Sam" last="Sledge"] 6’5 260lbs </strong>
<strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13095149/Sam-Sledge/highlights">Hudl</a></strong>

Sam is one of my favorite lineman in the state just from watching his film. On both sides of the ball Sam is a great athlete. Sam throws people off of him on defense and wont stop blocking down the field. Hes another Prep player I cannot way to go and watch this season. he is a stud and his film is very entertaining to watch.
<strong>WR, OLB [player_tooltip player_id="227032" first="Ahmar" last="Brown"] 6’1 186lbs</strong>
<strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13206440/Ahmar-Brown/about">Hudl</a></strong>

Ahmar is going to be a great this season and watching his game footage the man does not back down. He tackles low and gerts at the legs to stop the runner at anty spot. He does this on coverage and runs and that is what is most impressive is his eye for the ball. Creighton Prep is going to have one of the most entertaining defenses to watch this season.
We are many months out from the football season and we are all excited. If Creighton Prep and the amazing talented kids on this team can pull it together and upset some of those games early season, then they will be a major favorite going to state. It isn’t that bold looking at this roster to believe one of these teams might be able to bring down a few of the power house Class A schools. I think Class A will be a lot more balanced this season with multiple favorites who can pull through and many new talents to show what they can do.
