Continue ReadingAs we approach the upcoming 2022 football season, their are young bucks that are already proving they have what it takes to go far and compete at a high level. These players are still developing, but they have shown the necessary potential that will eventually catch up to speed, and develop into a premier player. They have the speed, size, and talent to compete with the best of them! In this article we will take a look, and see why these young underclassmen are potentially the future of their programs.
Zakai Anderson- 5’4 150Ibs/RB/ Langham Creek High School
Analysis: Zakai Anderson is a very powerful running back. Just a freshman, he has very good strength for his age benching 210 pounds, squatting 315 pounds, and cleaning 185 pounds. On the gridiron he runs with extreme force, and does an excellent job at using his lateral quickness to make defenders miss in the open field. Anderson also has shown that he has good vision in finding the correct gap to explode through as well. He also plays both sides of the ball, playing the safety position. Anderson is a very physical tackler and does a tremendous job at staying home or staying in his zone showing his keen discipline. With more training, his speed and power will only improve. Look for him to shine in the next three years!
Hunter Brooks- 5’8 150Ibs/WR/ Bridgeland High School
Analysis: Hunter Brooks is definitely a player to look for in the future. He has shown impressive combine numbers clocking in a 4.65 40 yard dash time, benching 190 pounds, and squatting 350 pounds! Brooks has very good route running skills as well, and does a superb job at getting open! He has very good break away speed as well, and has great run after catch ability. Hunter Brooks also has great jump ball ability as well contesting catches at the highest point, as well as catch contested balls at the wide receiver position. Look out for this young man in the future!
Devion Baptiste- 5’7 238Ibs/DT/ Bridgeland High School
Analysis: Devion Baptiste is a very talented player, that can take his game to the next level. Baptiste is an extremely strong defensive tackle for his age. Just a freshman, he is already benching 280 pounds and squatting 430 pounds! On the gridiron, he does an excellent job at using his brute strength to break blocks and play physical! Baptiste is very explosive off of the snap of the ball and is a very good tackler. Even though he is undersized, he is not an athlete to be overlooked. Finally, this young man does a great job at maintaining gap discipline and forcing fumbles as well. Look out for this young man in the future!
Kaden Friedrich- 5’10 230Ibs/DT/ Cypress Ranch High School
Analysis: Kaden Friedrich is a player that is still developing, but he is a very good defensive tackle. Friedrich does an excellent job at taking on blocks and holding up offensive linemen which allows his teammates to feast as well! He plays with a high motor and with a high level of physicality. He has decent strength and speed as well! With weight room training and more development, Kaden Friedrich will become a dominant player in the trenches. If he keeps up this level of play, he will have a bright future ahead of him!
Bisi Bello- 5’11 160Ibs/WR,SS,FS/ Katy Tompkins High School
Analysis: Bisi Bello has the potential to become a super star in the making! Bello is very good at catching the ball at its highest point and making spectacular catches when they are contested. He is a weapon on special teams because he can take it to distance at any given moment! Bello has good speed as well. His route running skills needs improvement, but he still does a tremendous job at finding open seams and gaps in zones. Next he has amazing hands which is crucial at the wide receiver position. Look for him to become a stud in the next couple of years!
