Every Monday throughout the summer we are going to take a look at some prospects in the 2023, 2024, and 2025 classes that are flying under the radar. The 2024 class has a number of sleepers that will have the opportunity to make a move forward over the next few months. In this article, we are going to look at some 2024 prospects with the chance to explode this coming season.
[player_tooltip player_id="149580" first="Drake" last="Lindsey"]-Quarterback-Fayetteville-6’3” 180-Pounds
During the Fayetteville spring game, Lindsey started to look extremely comfortable running the Fayetteville offense. He displayed a strong arm that can stretch the field when needed. Lindsey has good mobility in the pocket and can extend the play when the opportunity arises. He is a quarterback that has flown under the radar; however, this has the potential to be a season where he steps into the Friday night spotlight. Lindsey is a prospect to keep an eye on this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="172372" first="Rylan" last="Ray"]-Running Back-Booneville-5’9” 220-Pounds
The Booneville Bearcats love to pound opposing defenses with several different ball carriers throughout the game. Last season, we had the opportunity to see what [player_tooltip player_id="172372" first="Rylan" last="Ray"] could do carrying the ball for the Bearcats. Ray has no trouble carrying the ball between the tackles or cutting the run to the outside. Booneville is going to be a team to watch out for again this season as will [player_tooltip player_id="172372" first="Rylan" last="Ray"].
[player_tooltip player_id="304658" first="Dennis" last="Gaines"]-Running Back-East Poinsett County-5’10” 165-Pounds
The running back position group in the class of 2024 is going to open some eyes this coming season. [player_tooltip player_id="304658" first="Dennis" last="Gaines"] is a running back that can explode through the hole and hit a second gear rather quickly. Gaines has displayed an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He has also shown that he can make opposing defensive players miss. To bring Gaines down it usually takes multiple defenders. Gaines has flown under the radar up to this point; however, I expect him to have a strong season in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="194427" first="Achillies" last="Ringo"]-Quarterback-Little Rock Mills-6’2” 190-Pounds
The Little Rock Mills signal caller has exploded on to the 7-on-7 circuit this season. In the process, he has shown that he can throw the deep ball with ease. Ringo has terrific mobility and is not afraid to escape the pocket to pick up yards on the ground. Little Rock Mills has plenty of talented prospects to watch out for this season and Ringo fits that mold perfectly. I expect Ringo to light up Friday nights this fall.
[player_tooltip player_id="149931" first="Kenneth" last="Jordan"]-Running Back-Pulaski Academy-6’0” 170-Pounds
Pulaski Academy is never at a shortage for talented football players. It can be a little easier to fly under the radar when you play for the Bruins. However, [player_tooltip player_id="149931" first="Kenneth" last="Jordan"] has shown that he can run the ball between the tackles or cut it to the outside. He has displayed an ability to catch the ball and be used in the passing game as well. Jordan is a running back that should continue to build off of strong games from a year ago. I expect the Pulaski Academy running back to have an impressive 2022 football season.
