As per every year, Northern California is loaded with top tier talent on both sides of the ball and recently many athletes have really helped their stock rise as we continue to progress through the Spring.
OL Cooper Powers Cooper Powers 6'5" | 280 lbs | OL De La Salle | 2023 CA , De La Salle HS
Powers is one of the more athletic lineman in the state and is a true technician in the trenches. He has seen his recruiting really pick up over the past few months and recently picked up a big time offer from Indiana and also landed his first SEC offer from Missouri earlier in the week. There should be plenty of schools looking to make a last minute push on Powers as he closes in on his Senior season.
DL David Tangilanu, Menlo Atherton HS
The ’23 prospect has put together a very nice off-season and is a long and rangy kid that is one of the edge players across the Bay Area. He was offered by SJSU and Army last month and just picked up Air Force this week. It should only be a matter of time until other MWC and Pac-12 schools take a hard look at Tangilanu.
IOL Simione Pale Simione Pale 6'4" | 310 lbs | OL Elk Grove | 2023 State CA , Elk Grove HS
Pale is one of the most physical phone-booth blockers in the state and recently was re-offered by the new Oregon staff and will be one of the most devastating blockers across the SJS this fall. A natural bender, he can explode out of his stance and finish blocks downfield while playing with a nasty edge for the Herd.
CB William Fowler, Washington Union HS
Fowler has been one of the most impressive defensive backs from across the region this Spring and has turned heads at multiple camps and showcases he has attended. Picking up DB MVP Honors at the National Preps Showcase in Stockton last month, he picked up SJSU this week and could very well find himself in the Pac-12 when it’s all said and done.
RB Herschel Turner Herschel Turner 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Mt. Diablo | 2024 State CA , Freedom HS
Turner is one of the most under-rated explosive players from across the Bay Area and has some real big play abilities in the open field. A true burner that can do many different things out of the backfield, he recently picked up an offer from North Texas and is only a rising Junior. It will not be long until he starts landing Western Region G5 and P5 offers.
ATH Kingston Lopa Kingston Lopa 6'4" | 185 lbs | DB Grant | 2024 State CA , Grant Union HS
Lopa has a rare combination of size, length and speed while a big time physical hitter in the run game. Both ASU and Arizona pulled the trigger on offering him this week and other in-conference schools should follow soon. He offers nice upside at the next level and has dominated multiple events he has attended this off-season.
RB Bryson Donelson, El Diamante HS
Donelson has been flying under the radar this off-season but recently picked up his first offer from San Jose State last week. He is a big and bruising back that can get vertical quickly and a true North and South runner in the open field. More of a straight lined kid, he is extremely tough to bring down as he can easily break ankle tackles while showing natural forward lean and sneaky open field speed. He is one of the top ball carriers the Valley has to offer and is poised for a huge Junior season.
RB Lamar Radcliffe Lamar Radcliffe 6'2" | 225 lbs | ATH Sacramento | 2024 State CA , Sacramento HS
One of the most bruising and punishing runners in the entire region, the 2024 prospect has really transformed his body over the last two years and is a very well put together elusive back with natural hands and good speed out of the backfield. Also impressing at the National Preps Showcase last month, he recently picked up an offer from Arizona and very well could have most all the Pac-12 by the time it’s all said and done.
QB Tanner Wilson Tanner Wilson 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Sunnyside | 2025 State CA , Sunnyside HS
Wilson can flat sling it and is a very mobile passer with a strong arm for his age and good mechanics while on the run. SJSU just offered this past week and others should follow as he moves through his second prep season. He is a dynamic playmaker with the ball outside the pocket and can make tough throws in tight windows while scanning the field well and having very nice pocket presence. Statistically, he will be one of the states best in 2022.
IOL Cade Gretlein, Liberty-Bakersfield HS
Gretelin is one of the top maulers in the valley and recently picked up a Cal Poly offer. He is a true interior mauler that can block in space and scrape to the second level effectively while taking good angles in the open field and finishing blocks through the first two levels with pull and reach abilities. There are other Big Sky schools that should offer him as well as he offers nice position versatility along the offensive line.
WR CJ Jones, Sunnyside HS
Jones is one of the most consistent vertical threats in the central valley and put together a stellar freshman season. He recently picked up an offer from Colorado state and will once again be a big-time target across Central/Northern California. Only a rising sophomore, he can really stretch the field and make contested catches while showing good long speed and should draw Pac-12 offers sooner rather than later.
OL Zander Esty, Placer HS
Esty is another top interior offensive lineman that has impressed this off-season and recently picked up his first offer from Sacramento State. He is a downhill phone booth blocker that can explode out of his stance and quickly establishes inside hand placement and shows consistent leg drive with a strong base and the ability to pull and trap when needed.
