New players emerged in the latest update, and there are plenty of rising sophomore wide receivers who are starting to make a name for themselves across Georgia. Here are some wide-outs who have seen their stock rise in recent weeks and in the latest 2025 Prep Redzone Georgia Rankings.
Jordan Allen Jordan Allen 5'8" | 170 lbs | WR Buford | 2025 State GA – ATH – Buford
One of the top young athletes in Gwinnett County, the Buford Wolf may be on the smaller side this second, but he’s a great athlete for his class who can make plays on offense, defense, and special teams. It”s tough to earn playing time as a freshman at a place like Buford, and while he didn’t play all season at the varsity level, Allen could have a breakout season as a sophomore in 2022. He’s a twitchy athlete and precise route runner with a lot of potential, and as he grows and sees the field more, could be a big weapon for the Wolves over the next few seasons. He’s quick, has impressive burst, and can be dangerous with the ball in his hands. This spring he ran a personal best 10.98 in the 100-meter dash, showing off his impressive speed and explosiveness. He comes in at No. 24 in the Prep Redzone 2025 Rankings, and he already holds offers from Georgia Tech and Liberty.
Zeke Whittington Zeke Whittington 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Habersham Central | 2025 State GA – Habersham Central
Coming in at No. 29 is one of thee top young playmakers in North Georgia. Now he may be on the smaller side, but make no mistake, Whittington is a big-play threat who knows how to run routes and create separation from defensive backs. He can stop on a dime and can make defenders look silly if they bit on his first move. He’s a natural receiver with burst, quick feet, and reliable hands. He’s a downfield threat who knows how to shake defenders loose down the field. He’s not a burner, but he has enough speed to pick up plenty of yards after the catch. His ability to run routes gets him open consistently, and he knows how to elude defenders with the ball in his hands. As a freshman last fall, Whittington caught 62 passes for 631 yards and five touchdowns.
Josiah Abdullah Josiah Abdullah 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Woodward Academy | 2025 State GA – Woodward Academy
One of the top young playmakers across the state, the Atlanta native is a big-play waiting to happen and is one of the more dangerous players in the area with the ball in his hands. The 5-foot-11 170-pound receiver showed off impressive quickness, ball skills, hands, and body control all season and did it again in the Georgia Elite Classic game in late December. He runs great routes for his age and has a knack for creating separation from the defensive backs. He’s got good size already, and he’ll be expected to make even more plays if given an opportunity this fall. He’s a prospect to keep a close eye on for the future and is already to starting to see some offers come his way. The quick, twitchy wideout already holds offers from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Cincinnati, among others.
CJ Wiley CJ Wiley 6'4" | 200 lbs | WR Milton | 2025 State GA – Alpharetta
One of the top young WRs in the metro-Atlanta area, Wiley is a fast-rising prospect with plenty of size and playmaking ability. He’s young, but you wouldn’t guess it just looking at him. He has a big frame and he’s a big target at 6-foot-4 190-pounds and knows how to go up and snatch the football. He plays the ball well in the air, and can be so tough to cover with his frame and ability to win in jump-ball scenarios. He’s a natural pass catcher and knows how to drag defenders a few extra yards before falling to the ground. There’s a lot to like about his game already, and he’s only getting better. As he continues to develop as a route runner and overall receiver, Wiley should see more offers come his way. He already holds early offers from Miami, FSU, Louisville, among others, and more are likely on the way. Look for Wiley to be a breakout receiver candidate as a sophomore in 2022.
