Spring practice is finally here across the state of Georgia and Prep Redzone has recently released their latest 2024 Georgia Rankings.
New players emerged in the latest update, and we are happy to rank quite a few new tight ends across the peach state. Here are some new tight end additions to the latest 2024 Prep Redzone Georgia Rankings.
One of the hottest tight end prospects across the state, Smith comes in at No. 33 in the latest 2024 Rankings after a giant sophomore season last year. The dynamic pass-catcher from Savannah is a big-play waiting to happen with plenty of size for his age at 6-foot-4 225-pounds, making him physically imposing for someone with his athleticism. He has reliable hands, but his ability to pick up plenty of yards after the catch is what makes him to dangerous with the ball. As one of the biggest playmakers in the Savannah area, Smith showed that he has D1 talent with his 42 receptions for 684 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s deceptively quick for his size and is tough to bring down by one defender. He can break tackles in the secondary and always seems to fall forward for an extra yard or two. Smith already looks the part of a D1 prospect and still has two years to continue perfecting his craft. He currently holds early offers from Kentucky, Arkansas, South Carolina, among others.
Ranked No. 66 is one of the top tight ends in Cobb County. Teal, a 6-foot-2 220-pounder out of Walton, is tough, gritty player who can play on both sides of the ball, Teal is an impressive tight end who showed this past fall that he can be a big weapon in the passing game. He’s a versatile weapon offensively as he can line up in multiple ways to either get open in the passing game, or deliver a big block in the run game. As a pass catcher, Teal shows reliable hands when the ball comes his way. He can break tackles after the catch and shows toughness and strength when blocking on the edge. Teal caught 22 passes last season for 261yards and two touchdowns, and those numbers should only increase in 2022. He played well against some tough 7A competition as a sophomore last year and he could easily see his stock start to rise more and more over the next several months.
One of the top young tight ends in the state, Fox is a big target at 6-foot-5 210-pounds who already has the size of a D1 tight end. He’s currently ranked No. 50 in the latest update, but his ranking will likely rise after watching him dominate at one of Grayson’s recent spring practices. He showed the ability to run a smooth route for his size and he is starting to take on a leadership role on a very talented Grayson Rams team. He’s young, but the rising junior should get a lot of balls thrown his way later this fall. He can overpower defenders in the run game due to his size and length, and he’ll continue to get better there as he puts on more weight and muscle. He’s a reliable pass catcher and a really a smooth runner for his size. He has the opportunity to have a gigantic junior season, but after a successful season in 2021, Fox has already seen offers come his way from Arkansas, Auburn, South Carolina, Boston College, among others.
