PRZJordan’s Prospect Tour Preview: Top Matchups OL/DL
Today is the day of our PRZ Prospect Tour, we’re taking a look at some of the Top Matchups between the OL/DL coming to the showcase. We’re stacked with talent in both sessions of the showcase, keeping things focused on Session One let’s dive into the OL/DL coming to put on a show.
Gabe Rosenzz Gabe Rosenzz 6'6" | OL Evanston | 2023 IL 2023 6’7″ Evanston Twitter
Mr. Rosen is a young man that has such a high upside that it’s crazy to think that he doesn’t hold many offers to his name. There aren’t many 6’7 340 linemen that can move well for their size. I’ve not only seen this young man’s footwork and quickness out of his stance improve over the years but he also has that edge/mentality to him as well. I’m looking forward to seeing how he’s able to move during the lineman indy drills to see where he’s at in terms of how quick he is getting out of his stance/mobility to block in open space. The last time he was at our showcase earlier this year, I heard nothing but good things about his ability to hold his own during 1 on 1s – look to see if he can repeat during this showcase.
Trenton VanBoening Trenton VanBoening 6'7" | 280 lbs | OL Libertyville | 2023 State IL 2023 6’6″ Libertyville Twitter
Mr. VanBoening has been one of my favorite young men to not only watch develop but also scout as I’m a big fan of his. From his aggressiveness on film to his work ethic off the field, you couldn’t ask for more out of a prospect. Not to mention he’s a high GPA guy that just got inducted into the National Honor Society. I’ve seen him working his tail off to improve his footwork and ability to sustain blocks over these last few months – working on his own as well as working with FIST Football to hone his craft. I’m very interested to see how he does during 1 on 1s as he could very well be in the running for OL MVP.
Henry Warsaw Henry Warsaw 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL St. Charles North | 2023 State IL 2023 6’4″ St. Charles North Twitter
Mr. Warsaw can finish plays by getting a good punch at the point of attack before he drives the defender back through the whistle. His quickness off the ball is going to be one to keep an eye on as we head into the showcase as once he gets out of his stance he has shown the ability to latch on quickly to tie up the defender. I’m very interested to see how this young man performs during the showcase, specifically during 1-on-1s, as he could very well end up turning a few heads with his performance.
Tyson Cramer Tyson Cramer 6'4" | 285 lbs | OL Pontiac Township | 2023 State IL 2023 6’4″ Pontiac Township Twitter
Mr. Cramer is a newer name to me after this last fall season concluded but is one that has jumped onto my radar. This young man has that aggressive/attacking side to him that you love to see out of linemen. His running blocking dominance is one to watch as he has showcased the ability to drive the defender 5+ yards downfield until the whistle has blown the ball dead. What I’m interested to see out of this young man’s performance is how he fairs holding his own during 1-on-1s as this is an area of his game that wasn’t showcased in abundance in his highlights.
Blaine Halley 2023 6’6″ Olympia Twitter
Mr. Halley is a young man that has been on my radar for some time now and one that has only continued to improve his game year after year. He’s another aggressive lineman that can dominate at the point of attack in the run game as well as close the door on a rushing defender in pass protection to keep the pocket clean. This is going to be the first time that I’ve gotten a chance to see this young man in action live and I couldn’t be more excited. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the running for OL MVP either.
Jack Gallier Jack Gallier 6'1" | 255 lbs | DL Mahomet-Seymour | 2024 IL 2024 6’1″ Mahomet-Seymour Twitter
Mr. Gallier is a young man that I’ve started becoming a fan of more and more as I continue to see him develop and work his tail off this off-season. Most recently, he was at The Line Showcase Powered by FIST Football down in Iowa where I heard nothing but good things about his performance there. I’m pumped up to not only see this young man perform, but also watch him go up against some of the top offensive linemen in the state during 1-on-1s. Be sure to keep an eye on him throughout.
