Here we take a look at the MVP's and other top performers selected from the PRZ Prospect Tour stop this past Sunday. As noted, it was a talented group with 45 returning 1st or 2nd team all-conference guys and double digit D1 offered or projected athletes.
Later today you will see a new article featuring the breakout performers from the camp. These are individuals who upped their stock and will be added or moving up the rankings board.
OVERALL MVP- [player_tooltip player_id="110178" first="Jack" last="Wagner"] 6-4 190 QB Tualatin
UNDERCLASSMEN MVP- [player_tooltip player_id="152363" first="Nolen" last="Scott"] 6-1 175 ATH Sherwood
Positional MVP's
[player_tooltip player_id="205814" first="Jackson" last="Pfeifer"] RB 23' Silverton- This kid doesn't get enough credit so it was nice to see him recognized as the RB MVP. Look for Pfeifer to be listed among 5A's best for the returning state champs.
[player_tooltip player_id="263787" first="Austin" last="Goetz"] LB 23' Tigard- Goetz is a super athletic LB with size. He impressed all day edging out fellow D1 prospect [player_tooltip player_id="206771" first="Will" last="Wilson"] for MVP honors.
[player_tooltip player_id="342013" first="Zach" last="Wusstig"] DB 23' Jefferson (2A)- One of the top DB's in Oregon regardless of classification. Wussig's stock is rising as quick as any athlete in Oregon for 2023.
[player_tooltip player_id="206872" first="Stephen" last="Del Giudice"] OL 24' West Linn- The Lions could potentially go on a title run for the next 1/2 decade and have to be stoked with one of the state's best for 2024 making the move from Grant. He had an outstanding day doing well against legit competition.
[player_tooltip player_id="110178" first="Jack" last="Wagner"] QB 23' Tualatin- Wagner has the potential of being the conference and state POY this season. He's that good. He was lights out all day as you can expect him to add additional offers in the coming months.
[player_tooltip player_id="152363" first="Nolen" last="Scott"] ATH 24' Sherwood- As noted numerous times I would consider Scott the favorite for Pacific Conference POY honors this coming season as a junior. He was maybe the most impressive kid on the field all day.
[player_tooltip player_id="152347" first="Hatimu" last="Letisi"] DL 24' South Salem- I can't say enough good things about Letisi. He was physically dominant and incredibly difficult to stop, due to size and overall fluidity. He will be a defensive POY candidate within the Central Valley Conference.
Other Top Performers
[player_tooltip player_id="205821" first="Kevin" last="Cassidy"] T 23' Mountainside- Cassidy ranks as the state's top O line recruit for 2023 and will be an interesting athlete to watch all off season. Expect multiple D1s to be tracking him during the camp circuit.
[player_tooltip player_id="206771" first="Will" last="Wilson"] LB 23' Tualatin- I'm a big [player_tooltip player_id="206771" first="Will" last="Wilson"] fan. From a projection standpoint I think he could rank towards the top of the charts when all is said and done. His ability to maneuver was impressive, bringing legit size and speed to the table.
[player_tooltip player_id="270087" first="Daschel" last="Smith"] QB 23' South Salem- One of the most intriguing prospects in Oregon. Smith has good size and had an outstanding junior year, finishing 2nd state wide at the 6A level in passing yards. He was one of the most impressive kids at the entire camp.
[player_tooltip player_id="168252" first="Oliver" last="Fisher"] TE 23' Sherwood- Fisher will get some looks collegiately at the highest level, with his 6-5 frame and overall versatility DE/TE. He impressed all day as we will hear his name often.
[player_tooltip player_id="152360" first="Gabe" last="Staszak"] DE 24' South Medford- Staszak used his 6-5 length and mobility to impress going head-to-head with O line MVP Del Guidice. Both are listed among the top 24's in Oregon.
[player_tooltip player_id="209499" first="Sam" last="Kline"] ATH 24' Sheldon- Kline showed why he is ranked one the state's top 10 recruits for the 2024 class. From a pure athleticism standpoint, he set the bar. Expect a 1st team all-conference season on both sides of the football.
[player_tooltip player_id="270083" first="Konner" last="Grant"] RB 23' Tigard- Was super impressed with Grant as he is a powerful and fast back. The 190 pounder plays like he is 210 and can move. Look for the 2nd team all-league returner to be one of the best in the TRL.
[player_tooltip player_id="278374" first="Blake" last="Hurley"] LB 24' Sunset- Hurley quietly stood out. He will project as one of the best weak side backers in Oregon and should be the go-to guy for the Apollos.
[player_tooltip player_id="152351" first="Jaylan" last="Moore"] DB 24' Sherwood- The 3* recruit garnered some respect at an early age and showed why on Sunday. He is one to watch closely when going up against some of the state's elite WR's.
[player_tooltip player_id="272217" first="Jaxon" last="Watson"] WR 23' South Salem- Hands down one of the best players on the field. Watson had a good junior year but has the potential to blow up with continued progression.
[player_tooltip player_id="406770" first="Trevin" last="Laird"] WR 25' Tigard- Laird could be considered a breakout performer but was so good that he is listed with the top athletes. He will be in the conversation among the state's top incoming sophomores.
[player_tooltip player_id="157615" first="Blake" last="Baker"] QB 23' Clackamas- The Cavs will go as Baker goes. He had a nice junior campaign with one of the top TD/INT ratios in the state and has some of that "it" factor when he's on.
[player_tooltip player_id="194897" first="Vaughn" last="Croxton"] LB 23' Tigard- Croxton is a physical presence and will play a huge role. He is a big reason that the Tigers D and LB group could be one of Oregon's best.
[player_tooltip player_id="205823" first="Henry" last="Masters"] LB 23' Tigard- Give me Masters, Goetz, and Croxton to lead my defense. They are as good as any LB core in the state. Henry impresses as a 6-4 TE but projects defensively.
[player_tooltip player_id="285866" first="Liam" last="Davis"] QB/ATH 25' Lake Oswego- Even though he's young I think Davis could play a leadership role for the Lakers next season. Expect him to be one of the most influential Sophomore's in Oregon.
[player_tooltip player_id="110232" first="Brady" last="Crenshaw"] S 23' Lebanon- This kid has a shot collegiately. He will be in the mix as a 5A POY candidate defensively. Crenshaw has a stock which continues to rise.
[player_tooltip player_id="291229" first="Sam" last="Keen"] OL 24' Marist- Keen has some bounce and moves well. He is young and with work to be done but projects as one of the best in Oregon at the 4A level as a Junior.
