New players emerged in the latest update, and we are happy to rank a number of different Cobb County quarterbacks in the latest rankings. Here are some new quarterback additions to the latest 2024 Prep Redzone Georgia Rankings.
Jaylen Bester Jaylen Bester 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Harrison | 2024 State GA – Harrison
A promising quarterback with size at 6-foot-2 175-pounds, Bester is looking to have a giant junior season for the Hoyas, who are looking to improve dramatically in 2022. Bester is a natural runner who can make a lot of plays with his feet, and his raw arm talent will give him a chance to sling the ball all over the field in 2022. He’s young, so he’s still developing as a passer, but his best football is way ahead of him, and that’s why he holds a number of different D1 offers already. He appears to have a strong arm already, so if he continues to improve more and more each day, he has the chance to put up some giant numbers this fall. Bester comes in at No. 99 in the latest 2024 Rankings.
Chase McCravy Chase McCravy 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Hillgrove | 2024 State GA – Hillgrove
It was a tough 2021 season for Hillgrove, but with a returning starter at QB in Chase McCravy Chase McCravy 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Hillgrove | 2024 State GA , things are expected to be much better in 2022. McCravy didn’t light up the stat sheet last year, but the talent is easy to see. A pass-first quarterback who throws a tight spiral, McCravy also shows the ability to make plays with his feet, rushing for almost 400 yards and 5 touchdowns. He shows good pocket presence and does a good job of keeping his eyes downfield when scrambling away from defenders. He has a strong enough arm to throw into tight windows, and he’s fundamentally sound in the pocket. The 5-foot-11 80-pounder has a quick release, he’s smart with the ball, and he’s bound for a gigantic season this fall. He comes in at No. 88 in the 2024 Prep Redzone Rankings.
Bryce Clavon Bryce Clavon 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Kell | 2024 State GA – Dutchtown
A two-sport star who has an incredible future on the baseball diamond, Clavon was an excellent dual-threat playmaker for Dutchtown last season, but now he’ll be playing for the Kell Longhorns. One of the more athletic QBs in the area, Clavon is an explosive runner with promising arm talent. He glides when he runs, and he’s developing more and more as a passer, showing he can throw on the run and push the ball downfield accurately. He can put some zip on the ball when he needs too, but his ability to put touch on the ball down the field is what stood out of film from his sophomore season. He throws a soft, catchable ball and knows how to hit his receivers in stride. His ability to beat defenses with both his arms and his legs, along with his development as a passer has led him to being ranked as the No. 79 prospect in the state for the 2024 class.
Jeremy Hecklinski Jeremy Hecklinski 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Walton | 2024 State GA – Walton
Ranked as the No. 62 prospect in the 2024 class, Hecklinski is a strong-armed quarterback in Cobb County who took over during the season last year and showed big-play ability along with D1 potential. At 6-foot-0 175-pounds, Hecklinski didn’t play like a sophomore last year, but instead played like an experienced veteran. He took care of the football, knows how to elude defenders in the backfield, and can throw a strike down the field. He’s a true field general who knows how to play the position. He’s calm and poised, and played very well against some of the best competition in Georgia last year on a weekly basis. He ended the season throwing for close to 1,500 yards and 13 touchdowns to just 2 INTs. He also rushed for over 220 yards and two more touchdowns. He’s a fun young quarterback to watch, and he could be bound for a breakout junior season this fall for the Raiders
