We always strive to make these rankings as thorough and comprehensive as possible here at Prep Redzone and our last rankings update, before the start of the 2021 high school season, featured several hundred prospects in the Class of 2024. But in the months since those were released we have seen some intriguing prospects emerge.
Here is a look at some prospects who are making their debuts in the rankings:
DL Korey Phillips Korey Phillips 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Lift For Life | 2024 State MO , Lift For Life
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, Phillips had an impressive sophomore campaign last fall that included 49 tackles and a team-high 11 sacks. He enters the rankings at No. 61 overall, and 14th among defensive linemen, but could make a big jump in the future.
DL Caleb Redd Caleb Redd 6'3" | 200 lbs | DL De Smet | 2024 State MO , De Smet
Redd is an impressive looking athlete who measures in at 6-3 and 200 pounds. He looks like a good-sized wide receiver right now, but it’s not hard to envision him adding weight to his frame and being a big-time edge rusher. He enters the rankings at No. 23 overall and as the fifth-best defensive linemen (and third-best defensive end).
Redd’s sophomore film shows he can bend and burst past offensive linemen from his defensive end spot and he made an impact on the varsity level as a sophomore last fall. He led the Spartans with six sacks and finished fifth on the team with 45 tackles. He added an interception and a fumble recovery on his stat line.
OL Davis Schukar Davis Schukar 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL MICDS | 2024 State MO , MICDS
A 6-4, 250-pounder, Schukar is an offensive lineman with Ivy League-level academics who has gotten bigger, stronger and faster this offseason. The Rams have two Division I caliber running backs returning this fall and a strong offensive line that includes 2023 prospect Nate Schuckman Nate Schuckman 6'6" | 260 lbs | OL MICDS | 2023 State MO and Schukar as the anchors.
Schukar debuts in the rankings at No. 58 overall and as the 14th-best offensive lineman, but will have plenty of opportunities over the next two years to climb up that list.
ATH Griouard Weddington Griouard Weddington 5'9" | 140 lbs | ATH Grandview | 2024 State MO , Grandview
It is tough to find much information on Weddington as a football player, but it’s not difficult to find information about his standing as one of the fastest players in the Show-Me State. Weddington has run the 100-meter dash in 10.81 seconds this spring and has recorded a tine of 21.70 in the 200 meters.
A 5-9, 140-pounder, Weddington debuts in the rankings at No. 86 overall and the eighth-best athlete. We want to see more of him on a football field, obviously, but with that speed he could really be something special at running back, wide receiver or defensive back.
