April has turned to May, the sun is shining and draft buzz has turned into rookie camps. With that being said this will be my last installment for now of my draft style write ups on Minnesota Offensive Lineman. It has been a blast, and there isn’t much more fun to me than watching tape of big men getting after it in the sport we all love. Hope you have enjoyed!

The first thing I notice on film is that Jack plays with a great base. It doesn’t matter if it is in the run game or climbing to the second level on a screen he is under control and understands angles and aiming points. He is an above average finisher because he keeps his feet moving and plays on his feet due to that base. He can improve in the pass game, particularly in his punch, but his footwork will allow him to be very effective here. His build and game make him a true center who could play either guard position, but solid high school centers aren’t always very easy to find so Jack will certainly be a good fit for someone at the next level.

Drew plays both right tackle and left tackle on film but I think he projects a little more on the right side at the next level. He is very good in the run game, plays with decent bend for his size and understands how to use his punch and length to finish guys. In pass protection he has heavy hands and can lock pass rushers out. I think he will struggle with the speed rush early but consistent technique work particularly with his feet will help him correct that issue. He is good in a phone booth and might even find himself moving in to a guard spot in college.

Ben is probably best in KM’s pull schemes. He does a nice job of tracking second level players and attacking them with proper leverage. He continues to move his feet on contact and is a willing finisher. On man blocks he brings his feet and hands well enough to get movement at level one. He has a tendency to stand up out of his stance and often plays a little higher than you would like. As he continues to get stronger he will be able to play with a little better bend which will benefit him greatly moving forward.
[player_tooltip player_id="119520" first="Jayden" last="Hoss"]- (Pipestone Area High School) 6’3 260 Lbs. C/o 2023. @hoss_jayden
Jayden plays longer than his 6’3 frame might suggest. He utilizes his arms and his punch well to control smaller defenders. He also does a nice job on being patient with second level blocks. He is good on double teams and you can tell he is a technician in that part of his game. Jayden is another guy that needs to keep developing his ability to bend and play with lower hips which will help him be able to create movement against bigger defensive lineman in the future. Also, I would like to see him do a little better job keeping his weight back in pass pro, but overall there is a lot of good raw ability that should only improve in the fall of ’22.
[player_tooltip player_id="112162" first="Jal" last="Giet"]- (Faribault High School) 6’5 285 Lbs. C/o 2023. @giet_jal
Jal is a very big framed young man who has a lot of tools. He shows best in the run game, particularly in down blocks where he has good footwork and very good hand placement. He understands leverage and is able to get under defenders pads with his punch. In pass pro he has long arms and a decent punch and can handle bull rushers fairly well. He will need to keep working on his footwork in both areas, but particularly in pass game to get off the ball a little cleaner and use his tools to make the edge longer for speed rushers.
