LEGACY COLLEGE SHOWCASE: Sleeper QBs

There’s nothing more scary, than a QB with a chip on their shoulder. Last Thursday at The Legacy College showcase, a lot of signal callers showed up with hype already built around their names. To the QB’s on this list… that means nothing to them. Here’s a list of QBs who balled out on Thursday and people need to put on their radar ASAP. [player_tooltip player_id="327836" first="Noah" last="Funk"]- Grand Rapids Christian 2024 In the mid-1960’s, the music genre “FUNK” was created… a style of music that was still as smooth as jazz, and used emphasis on bass guitar and drums to add more swagger to the songs. About 45 years later [player_tooltip player_id="327836" first="Noah" last="Funk"] was created… and this dudes throwing mechanics are as smooth as jazz, and the swagger in his game has FUNK written all over it! This man has been catching my attention since the winter, picking apart defenses as the signal caller for Legacy West Green. The Grand Rapids native has been climbing up my rankings for the class of 2024 and after his performances on Thursday… his stock keeps climbing. What I was mostly impressed with was how coachable Noah is… how eager and hungry he is to be great. Stop sleeping on Funk, the dude can spin the rock. [player_tooltip player_id="300302" first="James" last="Bates"]- Livonia Franklin 2023 James “JD” Bates is cooler than the back side of a pillow and smoother than silk on the gridiron. JD’s is set to be the signal caller for the Division II power house Livonia Franklin, and the Patriots couldn’t be in better hands with Bates under center. I don’t think I have seen a harder working QB this off season, just hungry to prove to everyone… what him and his family already know… he’s the real deal. Bate’s off season was off to a hot start, leading Legacy White to a Championship in this year’s Legacy’s 7v7 Winter League. JD’s swing is a thing of beautiful… just watch the way he poses after every throw, just like a golfer hitting an iron right at the flag. James has been touring and visiting college campus’s all spring and after his senior campaign this fall… watch the offers come pouring in for this gun slinger. [player_tooltip player_id="300493" first="Luca" last="Prior"]- Northville 2023 Now… to every player in the KLAA, this QB isn’t slept on at all. It’s time for the rest of the state and college recruiters to wake up to what I already know, [player_tooltip player_id="300493" first="Luca" last="Prior"] is a baller. If heart was being tested at camps and combines, Luca would be the top prospect in the country right now. He is a fierce competitor, student of the game and an absolute nightmare with the rock in his hands. I have personally have had the un-lucky honor to coach against this young man the past few years, in both 11-man and 7v7. Let’s just say, I had to stand on the sidelines and watch my secondary get picked apart. There’s no answer for a QB who refuses to lose… and that’s what a college is going to get when they offer Prior. I’m beyond excited to watch him lead the Mustangs this fall in his final season at Northville. If you’re sleeping on Luca, its time to wake up.
