Players are getting bigger, faster, and stronger each year, and there’s a chance the 2025 class will be one of the deepest classes the peach state has seen in years.
Here are some impressive 2025 players to know about who are seeing their stock rise…
KJ Whitehead – Athens Academy
I Athens is where you’ll find one of the top two-way players in the entire state for the 2025 class. Whether he’s lined up on the EDGE on defense or catching passes as a receiver, Whitehead has a knack for making plays. He has really good size already at 6-foot-2 and 185-pounds, so he’s able to hold his own against older players in the region. He moves well, he’s strong enough to hold the edge as a defender, and he appears to be a good athlete with the ball in his hands. Playing at a smaller program like Athens Academy, Whitehead will be able to play on both sides of the ball often in his career, and that should give him an opportunity to flash his talent in a number of ways. Air Force was the first school to offer the young 2025 prospect, and more are likely to come down the road.
Josiah Abdullah Josiah Abdullah 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Woodward Academy | 2025 State GA – ATH – Woodward Academy
One of the top young playmakers across the state, the Atlanta native is a big-play waiting to happen and is one of the more dangerous players in the area with the ball in his hands. The 5-foot-11 170-pound receiver showed off impressive quickness, ball skills, hands, and body control all season and did it again in the Georgia Elite Classic game in late December. He runs great routes for his age and has a knack for creating separation from the defensive backs. He’s got good size already, and he’ll be expected to make even more plays if given an opportunity this fall. He’s a prospect to keep a close eye on for the future and is already to starting to see some offers come his way. The quick, twitchy wideout already holds an SEC offer from Arkansas and should see more come his way over the next several months.
Justus “Jay” Terry – DL – Manchester
The term “freak” gets thrown around way too often when describing football players, but with Terry, the term more than fits. He’s one of the top 2025 prospects not only in Georgia, but across the South, and his recruitment is taking off right now. The big jumbo athlete is another prospect who can play on both sides of the ball and already looks like an upperclassmen at 6-foot-5 280-pounds. From his defensive tackle spot, Terry is quick off the ball and knows how to wreck thee running game. He runs well for his size, and when he meets the ball-carrier, he’s going to deliver a big blow. He consistently flashes and makes a number of “wow” plays on tape. He’s tough, physical, and already looks like a major D1 prospect. He’s a force on offense and knows how to latch on to defenders and drive them backwards. There aren’t many his age who are that powerful, and that’s why he’s earned recent offers from South Carolina and Oregon. Terry is one with 5-star potential in the 2025 class.
Ethan Barbour – ATH – Alpharetta
One of the top young prospects in the Alpharetta area, Barbour is a pass-catching tight end who can also split out and play receiver. He’s a big target already for his age at 6-foot-3 215-pounds and is only going to get better throughout his Alpharetta career. He has big hands and should be a major weapon in the red-zone for the Raiders in the 2022 season. He’s a physical blocker and knows how to open up holes in the run game. It’s hard to remember that he was just a freshman last year as he more than held his own against some really tough 7A competition. He played against the best and proved that he’s already an impact receiver and run blocker in his first season. There’s a lot to like about his game, and he’s already been shown interest by a number of impressive D1 programs. As a freshman last fall, Barbour caught 26 passes for 342 yards and 2 touchdowns.
