The Zebras were hosts to Collinsville, Edison, Lincoln Christian, Oologah, Miami, Muskogee, Rogers, and Tahlequah. We saw a great combination of prospects we’ve seen before, prospects who are already considered some of the best in the state, and a few new faces that stood out. Prep Redzone Oklahoma has coverage from several team camps all over the state. Now is a great time to check out the site and see who has been standing out over the last few days in Oklahoma. In this post, we take a look at some of the standouts from Friday night’s action in Claremore.
Jack Keith – 2024 RB/DE – Collinsville
With the talented group of running backs that have graduated, it was intriguing who the next guy could potentially be at Collinsville. A potential replacement this year could be Jack Keith, 2024 running back and defensive end. On the defensive side of the ball, Keith comes off the ball fast and makes plays. He is quick to use his hands to get off blocks and to get to the quarterback. Offensively, he runs between the tackles hard and will lower the shoulder into the defenders to gain the extra yards. He took a few sweeps out on the perimeter and looked good in doing so. I like the combination of running back and defensive end that Keith plays for the Cardinals.
Cam Dooley Cam Dooley 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK – 2023 WR – Lincoln Christian
Dooley was the best receiver at Claremore’s team camp overall. It was impressive the clinic that Dooley put on at wide receiver from running routes, gaining separation, and catching the football in open windows. Luke Milligan Luke Milligan 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Lincoln Christian | 2024 State OK found Dooley open play after play either on short route combinations or on a deep ball. He worked several different route combinations as it wasn’t only one thing that stood out about him. He had clean routes and caught with his hands every time. He put on a show Friday evening that even had me in awe just with everything he is capable of doing. One of the most complete wide receivers I watched at camp.
Ben Jordan Ben Jordan 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Claremore | 2024 State OK – 2024 OL/DL – Claremore
Jordan has the potential to be a 2-way starter for the Zebras this season. He played on the defensive line and guard/tackle on the offensive side. On defense, he will fight down the line of scrimmage and make plays from the backside. He does a good job coming off the ball and reacting to the ball carrier. He made a couple of plays in the backfield chasing it down from the backside or getting off the block and making a play. On offense, he likes to play physical. He will come off the ball and get up to the second level in a hurry. Jordan will look to help lead in the trenches up front this season.
Beckett Robinson Beckett Robinson 6'2" | 170 lbs | DB Tahlequah | 2025 State OK – 2025 WR/DB – Tahlequah
Tahlequah has a player on both sides of the ball that is another 2025 wide receiver and defensive back with talent. Robinson is athletic on both sides of the ball and made several plays on days one and two. There was a play in the end zone where he jumped to high point the football over the defender and snagged it. He made several plays downfield and catches the ball with ease. Robinson is an athletic athlete for the class of 2025 which keeps getting better and better here in Oklahoma
DK Spears – 2023 OLB – Edison
Another player for the Eagles that moves around well is Dekindrick Spears. DK plays a few different spots as a linebacker and safety down in the box, as well as wide receiver. DK made several plays on the ball on the defensive side and ended up with an interception when he jumped the underneath route. His perimeter play was good as he didn’t allow the ball carrier to get outside of him. He plays cut back well and isn’t afraid to come downhill and attack. On the offensive side of the ball, DK made several catches in the flats or underneath routes and got upfield quickly.
Joe Griswold – 2023 QB – Oologah
Talk about a player that plays with some swagger, you will find that in Griswold. He gets excited and fired up for his teammates and had fun out there doing it. Griswold made several plays himself as a quarterback and on defense. On defense, he made several plays and also ended up with an interception. As a quarterback, he moves well in the pocket and can step up to avoid the pressure to make his throw. He has good ball placement on his deep throws and can make plays with his feet. Griswold has a good arm that the Mustangs will lean on this season along with his leadership he brings with him.
Braxton Moore Braxton Moore 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Oologah-Talala | 2023 OK – 2023 WR – Oologah
One of Joe Griswold’s favorite target on both days was 2023 wide receiver, Braxton Moore Braxton Moore 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Oologah-Talala | 2023 OK . Moore showed good ball skills and was consistently making plays every time the ball was thrown in his direction. He does a good job getting off the line of scrimmage and finds a way to get open consistently. He does a good job catching with his hands and finding the open window for his quarterback to locate.
Kayden McGee Kayden McGee 6'1" | WR Muskogee | 2024 State OK – 2024 WR/DB – Muskogee
Another weapon the Roughers have to utilize this up and coming season is Kayden McGee Kayden McGee 6'1" | WR Muskogee | 2024 State OK . I first saw Kayden during Friday Film Review back in April where I was able to watch his tape. I liked his tape back then and I enjoyed seeing him in person. It was good to be able to see him work in live-action and McGee didn’t disappoint. McGee made big plays on both sides of the football Friday evening. He was quick getting on the edge making plays offensively and had several deep ball snags he made in stride. McGee has good fundamental footwork which translates with his backpedal and with his routes. He gets to the ball carrier in a hurry and gets off blocks to make plays.
Braxton Etheridge Braxton Etheridge 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Claremore | 2024 State OK – 2024 QB – Claremore
Etheridge brings experience in from last year playing quarterback and feels more confident being in the pocket throwing the ball. Etheridge performed good day 2 and I was able to see a little more of what he can do. He was consistent and more confident in his throws. Etheridge can step up and deliver the pass with pressure in his face. He was able to distribute the ball around more from his pre-snap reads and play-action passes. He throws the deep ball well and was able to fully step and follow through with his motion. He throws a good mixture of passes and throws to green grass for his receivers. As camp progressed, so did Ethridge’s poise.
Tyler Johnson Tyler Johnson 5'11" | 210 lbs | LB Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK – 2023 LB – Lincoln Christian
Another Lincoln Christian player that had my attention is linebacker Tyler Johnson Tyler Johnson 5'11" | 210 lbs | LB Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK . Johnson currently holds 2 offers and it wouldn’t surprise me that after this summer he will rack up more. Johnson is a physical linebacker that attacks downhill and brings a punch. It is fun to watch someone of his style that brings his hard hat to work every day with a physical mindset. He is a hustler that can make plays sideline to sideline. He loves being physical at the point of contact. After each play, I kept saying there is #44 again. He is a middle linebacker that you like to watch play and kept getting better as camp progressed.
