In this article, we will analyze the top safeties around the cities of San Antonio! These guys are the eyes of the defense. They are the last man in the back on defense or the safety net of the team, hence why the position is called safety. Safeties are hard hitting, ball hawks, and defensive generals. Furthermore, the guys on this list have proven themselves to be some of the best safeties in the city! Let’s look further in to why these guys are considered the best.
TT Turner- 6’0 180Ibs/SS,CB/ Brennan High School
Analysis: TT Turner is a four star recruit and has proven why he is such. Turner is one of the best tackling safeties in the area. He has very good jump ball skills and elusiveness. As a safety, he possesses really good speed. Also, he is a safety that likes to play physical and hit hard. Turner does a good job in man and zone coverage because he keeps his eyes on the quarterback. As a safety, Turner possesses excellent technique in coverage by using his hands to jar balls loose and prevent receivers from catching the ball. TT Turner will be looking to have a superb senior season!
Malik Tolbert- 5’10 182Ibs/SS/ Brennan High School
Analysis: Malik Tolbert is one of the best safeties that I have scouted with my eyes. This young man has very good hands and is a ball hawking safety in coverage. Tolbert hits very hard as well and makes excellent tackles in the open field. He does a good job at breaking and shedding blocks as well. This young man is also a very disciplined safety as well and stays in his zone. Malik Tolbert has the potential to rack up some future offers as well. For the upcoming 2022 football season, I expect him to make some huge noise for his team!
Giuseppe Sessi- 5’11 185Ibs/SS/ Reagan High School
Analysis: Sessi is a safety that is very underrated. Sessi possesses really good speed running a blazing a 4.47 40 yard dash and can run most ball carriers down. This young man is also a physical safety and hits opponents like it is no tomorrow. He also possesses very good closing speed, has good form when tackling, and is consistent in breaking up passes and causing incompletions. He also plays with a high motor and can change the narrative of a game when he makes plays. Keep your eye on him in the upcoming 2022 football season.
Jameer Dudley- 6’3 200Ibs/SS/ Samuel Clemens High School
Analysis: Jameer Dudley is a safety that is a true playmaker on his team. He plays both sides of the ball playing the wide receivers position. Dudley has great soft hands. He is also a hard hitting safety and possesses really good speed which allows him to stay on top on receivers! His speed also allows him to run down ball carriers to prevent them from scoring. He has a solid build as well which makes him a little bit more difficult to run over. Finally, Dudley is an excellent tackler and makes sure he takes really good angles in his pursuit. Look for Jammer Dudley to only improve moving forward.
David Miller- 5’10 165Ibs/SS/ Davenport High School
Analysis: David Miller has been mentioned before as being one of the top sleeper players in San Antonio! He also shows that he has good speed clocking a 4.59 40 yard dash time. Miller has good technique in the passing game and can force incompletions and interceptions at any given moment. Even though is he not the biggest, he still has the ability to lay the hammer on opponents when needed which is vital at the safety position. With some more development and training, Miller will become a safety that can potentially rack up some offers from colleges in the future!
